She does look a bit more aggressive now, doesn't she? A new wintertime personality.
I'm feeling a close, personal connection with Gozer now. Like the transplant of a vital organ that used to belong to a beloved family member. We're now flesh and blood.
I am glad Shadowfax 'matched' Gozer! It is nice to have something of such a fine MINI transplanted to remain with EIM
Finished up the route details today for next month's Border Skirmish Drive. I'm a bit excited, as I think as far as the roads are concerned this will be the best one yet.
I'll bring some hard copies along to Granite City tomorrow. The BSD NAM planning thread will likely go up next week.
Summer tires and wheels are on! Tuesday we have an appointment at Willis to get the strut tower fixed. Still need a spring cleaning but we are soooo ready for a great MINI road trip!

Have fun in DM...glad Gozer was able to get such a quick appointment with the orthopedic surgeon.
Headed to Naperville tomorrow. Recall fix on the aux water pump, also having them check the multiple cylinder misfire codes and what looks like a leaking turbo oil line. I'm guessing the misfires are again due to a faulty high pressure fuel pump, had it replaced once already in 2009. Looking like we will be heading home with a loaner, hope it's something cool.

Good luck with the work. Based on what I've read it seems like the oil line to the turbo is not an uncommon issue. If the misfires are carbon build-up, maybe they'll use the walnut shell blaster to clean things up (I've heard that it does wonders for performance).
Willis would have picked up your mini and dropped you off a loaner,( and they are in Iowa!)

But then how would I get out of work on a Friday, shop at IKEA, road trip in the MINI, have a great lunch with my wonderful wife, and just plain ole have fun? And, we live in Illinois, not that that makes a diff, just had to note that.
Steve's probably like me...no way is someone else getting behind the wheel of my MINI and taking it out on the open road. I've seen Ferris Bueller's Day Off...
Service overnighter, too much to get done in one day.
They are putting on new brakes front and rear, woohoo, one day left on the 3 year maintenance.
Came home in a laser blue R56 with a kickass HK stereo. Makes you realize how bad the one is in our '09.

That was nice of them to work in the brake job. Did you get any clues as to the root cause for the misfire codes?

Yea, I had that happen about a month ago even after new plugs were installed. I took it in to Patrick MINI, he's closest to me now, for an oil/filter/tire rotate and mentioned the problem. They fixed the pump for free and I got a Countryman for a loaner. I didn't care for it. For me it was just like driving an SUV. To each his own.
They did! They also had to replace the other tower. At least I know I should not have any more problems with that!
I imagine the work took a hefty bite out of the wallet. Oh well, it's good to know that Gozer is ambulatory -- and you needed something worthwhile to spend all of that bowling and pool prize money on anyway.
