EIM Warm Weather Babble
...it makes for a nice, MINI-perfect photo op.

I remember oldsbear posting a pic of their trip down it several years ago.
Some interesting historical info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snake_Alley
Photos from our recent adventure at MITM 2011. You should all do this trip next year. Lots of MINI fun.
(I've never done this before, Hope it works!)

Wonderful pictures! I hope you will post some wonderful parade pictures tomorrow.
I will be expecting to see that graphic covering the entire expanse of LEO's bonnet in the not-too-distant future.

Its been too quite in this chatroom so I thought I'd stir up the pot with this question:
How fast is the Road Runner from Looney Tunes? I'm looking for an actual mph not "Super-sonicus Indredulous" etc.
And also,
Since March I've been compiling a list I call "Movies with MINI's".
The MINI just needs to appear somewhere in the movie.
Judy Moody & The not so Bummer Summer / Marmaduke / Cars 2 / Hard Candy / Italian Job (new&old ofcourse) / Austin Powers 3 / Spanglish / Air Guitar Nation / The Seeker / Hereafter / The Bourne Identity / Company Men / Hall Pass / Jumping the Broom / Limitless.
So, if you need something to do try renting one of these and spot the MINI. Some are obvious others not so much. Please add to the list if you can.

God bless Smokin' Jo for stirring this pot...
Add The Heartbreak Kid to your movie list (tolerable if you enjoy the typical Ben Stiller schtick).
...and it doesn't matter how fast the Road Runner is...just as long as he's faster than Wile E Coyote.

It is claimed that Chuck Jones and the artists behind the Road Runner and Wile E. cartoons adhered to some simple but strict rules:
- The Road Runner cannot harm the Coyote except by going "meep, meep."
- No outside force can harm the Coyote—only his own ineptitude or the failure of Acme products. Trains and trucks were the exception from time to time.
- The Coyote could stop anytime—IF he were not a fanatic. (Repeat: "A fanatic is one who redoubles his effort when he has forgotten his aim." —George Santayana).
- No dialogue ever, except "meep, meep" and yowling in pain.
- The Road Runner must stay on the road—for no other reason than that he's a roadrunner.
- All action must be confined to the natural environment of the two characters—the southwest American desert.
- All tools, weapons, or mechanical conveniences must be obtained from the Acme Corporation.
- Whenever possible, make gravity the Coyote's greatest enemy.
- The Coyote is always more humiliated than harmed by his failures.
- The audience's sympathy must remain with the Coyote.
- The Coyote is not allowed to catch or eat the Road Runner.
...although I do remember one episode where Wile E. breaks into a resigned, crazed, paradoxical laugh just after a particularly unbelievable failure.
Nice wrap-up article on MITM 2011 by our friend Chuck over at MINI5280:

I think it would be really cool to rally a large group of EIMers for this event in 2012.

Missed it by that much
We drug our feet and didn't get registered for MITM 2011. Then when the week came around we both wished we had gone. Definitely on our list for 2012. Does anyone know if they have set dates for 2012 yet?
Haven't heard or seen. I posted a query over in the MINI5280 forum to see what they say.

Lately I've been hearing a "fluid" type sound when I take off in 1st gear. It sounds just like liquid moving through a pipe or hose and its coming from the engine's passenger side.
I've checked the engine bay and can't see any signs of spraying or wetness. Is any one else experiencing this?

I've heard the same noise in ours, kind of a sloshing water sound. Last time we were at the dealer I mentioned it and they did not have an answer for the noise. They said they did not hear it during a test drive.

So how about 186, 282 mph.(aka the speed of light).
