Exchanged waves with a nice EB/W R53 tooling by my Mom's place down in Washington. It was ridiculously clean for this time of the year...

I guess this isn't an official Iowa sighting but felt compelled to post anyway.

I'm in LA LA Land for a couple of days, and guess what I saw today southbound on Sepulveda a couple miles south of LAX around lunchtime?

A MINI-E!

I motored next to him for a block or so (albeit in my Chevy Cobalt rental) and was able to give it a good look. Very nice. Seemed nice and quick off the line. It was cool to actually see one in the flesh!

While I've been waiting to pick up my son from school, over the past 2 weeks, I have seen a few mini' and clubman's. Not one wave, honk or flash of the lights from these people. Perhaps they didn't see my freshly washed & waxed, Blazing, Chili Red, gleaming in the brilliant sunlight, coming right at them.

I placed an EIM business card under the wiper of a blue Clubman with black racing stripes at Target in Dubuque today. I think they may be interested as their plates were personalized

Speeding along US-20 somewhere between Elizabeth and Stockton, IL., I got a wave through the sunroof of a white R53. Im not 100% on the color, we were both going pretty quick... and I just passed about 3 cars on the single lane highway. I was driving my IB R53. Keep an eye out, I'll be making a few trips between Chicago and Dubuque as I complete my move to IA.

Spotted a BRG w/grey (i think) at a stoplight near my house. I waved and pretty sure I got a scowel in return. Seriously?!

Some people may be driving a MINI, but they just aren't MINI people!

Exactly!
Maybe I've said this before...If I was a MINI Motorist Advisor(salesperson)
I would be able to see that the customer was not a true motorist and it would be my duty as a Motorist Advisor to advise them against getting a MINI.

I encounter these type of people enough. Would it be wrong of me to stop them and say hey WTF?

Some people buy them because they are cars to get them from A to B with low fuel costs. It's terribly sad. Or they buy them just cause they think they are a "cute" looking car. I prefer those people bought a Chevy Aveo or some other econobox, but oh well.

This morning all within an hour-
Spotted a PW/B for sale.
Spotted a LtB/W at an intersection.
Spotted a Blk/B in a parking lot. I've tagged this one before.

Spotted Judy & Jim the other day.

Good work.

Keep those reports coming everyone, and tag with reckless abandon.

Yesterday at the Welton truck stop as I got out of Gozer a guy told me his wife wants one! I told him what fun they are and gave him a card. Told him to check out the website. Once someone sees how much fun we have I am sure they won't be able to resist!

I need to get my hands on some of these cards you speak of! There is a red MINI in my parking lot at work (Arsenal Island) from time to time and it's there today. Plus I drive by the home of another PW/B on my way to/from work every day and it's been in the driveway a lot lately. Gotta tag them!

My wife and I fall into this category. My friend, an avid auto enthusiast, found NAM and pointed me this way. Our eyes have been opened and we're slowly becoming MINI people and motoring enthusiasts rather than just MINI owners. There is hope for others. They just need to be helped!

R56MINICooper has put together some nice personalized card designs for several of us in the past, and there's an online provider--can't seem to remember the name of the place offhand--that can produce a good stack of high quality, glossy cards for dirt cheap.

Send him a PM and let him know what interests you.

Sorry to get off-topic...back to those MINI sightings.

Yesterday I took a drive to Bethany, MO by way of I-80 and then I-35. Saw a PW/B (I think it was Daryl). Saw a Prpl/W non-S, a clubman who waved, a couple of others and a EB/B who passed by and waved whilst I was waiting in a parking lot. Then on my way back I got a ticket from a State Trooper. I came up on him too fast. Honestly was not aware of the speed limit change. He wrote me up for 10mph over then said be sure to get up some speed before pulling into traffic from the shoulder. I looked at him, devilishly smiled and said "Not a problem!". He chuckled then replied "Well not too fast." I took off fast enough.

I found that aforementioned vendor where you can order the cards we use to "tag" those locally sighted MINIs:

http://www.overnightprints.com/businesscards

Design your own, or have Rob whip up one of his creative genius editions.
