Saw three MINIs northbound on I-380 in CR today around 4:30 pm, all within the space of about 5 minutes. A CR/B R56 S with black bonnet stripes, followed by an R53 DS Cabrio with black bonnet stripes, then a nice LY/W with white stripes.

Lots of targets of opportunity in the corridor!

 

Saw 2 MINIs on I80 going west bound 1 yellow 1 blue

Got a wave from a blue MINI in Clinton on Highway 30!

 

Got passed by a dark green Cooper with black bonnet stripes between Luxemburg and Guttenberg.

 

On the way home from Jimmy Jack's today I saw one of the Red Bull MINIs! It was southbound on I-380 just north of the Swisher exit, about 4:50 pm.

Shared a wave.

 

I saw a bunch of MINI's yesterday.... tons at the dealer , and then on the drive back, a blue MINI with red mirror caps on I-80, a red clubman on riverside drive in iowa city, and I think i saw walt on riverside drive also. got a
wave out of all 3

 

I'll bet the blue MINI with red mirror caps was Gary and Linda heading back to Moline after our meet.

I taged a red justacooper at bust buy today. had stickers from texas on it, but iowa plates.

 

Talked to a nice owner of an 07 S in Dubuque on Wednesday. She just moved here and is unfortunately planning to sell () as there is no local dealer. I gave her a card for EIM. Maybe she will see how much fun we have and decide to keep it.

I talked to, and helped, a proud new owner of a 2003 MCS that was baught at Pat McGraths !! he is very excited to see that there is a HUGE MINI community around here. His name is Tim Brendes, 2003 light silver with black bonnet strips, black roof and mirrors, black strip down the side. Honk and wave if you seem him in the C.R. area!

 

I will be in Iowa City Saturday sans Gozer . So if you see some people in a gold Pontiac Torrent waving crazily at you it will be me & Tom! If only I would've stunted my children's growth so they fit in the back seat of the Cooper. Or maybe I should get a luggage rack!

I, too, think this is a brilliant idea! Unfortunately when I suggested this to my son (6'1") his exact words were, "That's stupid". He refused to even try it! Obviously I have failed to teach my children proper appreciation for the MINI.

folded down as there is in the front seat of that thing.... ha ha

 

Its simply a matter of making it seem like a good idea propose it this way

1. Walk
2. Roof
3. wheel well
4. ride in the back

 

I have been told but have not seen for myself that the Dubuque couple who own a yellow Cooper with checkered roof and was in Winona at the East Meets West have recently become a two MINI family! She bought an 09 in Blue with checkered mirror covers. I have no more details but Congratulations to them! Wouldn't it be great if they both came to the Holy Cross Parade?!

 

I just tagged a nice looking R50 CR/W with white bonnet stripes. Looks like there's another new MINI in town.
