Drivetrain Hydra EMS
How much is this Hydra? Is this Hydra used in conjuction with a dyno? There are awesome results being done with custom dyno tunes for only $350. plus dyno time. I think I remember the Hydra is going for $1000.+, with no dyno time.
Its not about the quantity, but the Quality of the tune......
There is about 5 codes normally, but my BimCom just broke so i have to get a new tool to look them all up. But when we plugged the ECU and Unichip back it, it fired up with ZERO CEL's.
-The Hydra is $2000.
-It can be used with a dyno, and best to be used on a dyno to build your maps. But we do have a couple of maps we can supply you with which are pretty tuned.
-It is more expensive, but its tunable by you or someone qualified. The $350 tunes are only done by people with the right tools to do so. Spending $2000 to be able to tune your own car, or take it to anyone with a dyno has its own benifits. Remember, this isnt't the best tool for the normal types of setups. Crazy heads, cams, turbo...that is what the Hydra is for.

Now you are selling it again?
Do I have this right or am I confused.

So let me get this straight. I have personally spoke with the owner of hydra. He told me that I would have no check engine lights with this setup. That was almost a year ago.
I also sent this guy a factory exhaust manifold with a cat to do some testing. I'm not trying to get any money back out of this but I just dont understand how hydra can represent it self in this way. Seems to me they threw together a wirring harness for the car and bypassed the factory DME. And since then have given up on fixing what they claimed wasn't a problem.
Props to Jeff and everyone at Alta for letting everyone know that truth about the check engine codes. But to me is seems hydra builds a product that "should" work, and if it doesn't they claim it does (not from a tunning stand point but for the trouble codes the DME throws).

OK? First you got me all pumped up on the Hydra. I jumped on board to get one and then waited and waited and waited. Finally you said (or I believe you said) you gave up and went with the UNIchip.
Now you are selling it again?

But NEVER EVER EVER, did i or any ALTA person say we gave up on it for the Unichip. Back in July when we got our Hydra Units in, Unichip wasn't even on our mind. WE have looked at every option of tuning over the last year or 2 and truly the Unichip is in our stable because of the R56. This is the only thing out for the R56 and the only WE can tune our selves. It was only natural to start selling the R53 Unichip with our new venture. The Hydra still has its place for certain customers.
So yes we are selling it, and have been for a while. If you remember, i sent you an email on July 17th about being able to ship parts that following monday, July 23rd. We were going to drop ship it to you, but you canceled the order. I even offered to let you have the prototype harness to get your developing going. I know they made promise dates for about 2 months, and i know this was frustrating, but that is why i had you talk to Hydra so you could get the info straight from the Horses mouth.

And we have them to ship ready to roll with a couple of good base maps for stock injectors, and JCW injectors.
