Hydra EMS

Has anyone played with this setup? Just got off the phone with them. They said that they were able to bypass the factory DME and keep all the body control modules working.

Sounds great. All of the adjustability of a standalone, including going past 8250rpm, while keeping all the creature comforts. Just wanting to see if anyone has had any experience with this setup.

Ryephile looked into this system. Check over on Michigan MINI if you haven't and see what he thinks. I don't think he is currently running it though.

The retail on the unit is $1950. They have a base map too. Not sure if thats the plug and play price.

I will check out Michigan MINI. But did Ryhephile sell his turbo coop for an '07 or does he have two coops now?

I think he may have sold his. It is way easier to contact him over there though. He is really cool about responding to questions. I had a bunch when I started planning my conversion and he was very helpful.

So are you keeping your car now Ryan?

Yeah I got a headache from messing around finding parts and what not. There's not too much support over here for skyline's. So its up for sale.

Like I said, I think this was an issue when Ryphile was looking at running their system. They promised a lot, but if I remeber right they were short on delivery of said promises.

Ryan, have you talked to Jason at Mynes Performance in Phoenix? Or the guys at Fireballed? I know they are continually working on solutions to deal with our darn TB/fueling/EML issues and turbo only setups.

Well I was wanting to have something that I could play around with. Instead of sending my DME back and forth. And the factory ecu is only mapped to 8250rpm.

I suppose I shall have to drop him a line.

The other option of course is to talk to LDG. They are not what I would term "close" to your locale, but certainly "closer" LOL!

We just put the Hydra Nemesis on my Mini and are in the process of sorting it out. I will post more as things progress, but I can say it looks very promising.

Talk to the guys on the Alta Info thread or send them an email. I have spoken in the last week to them about the hydra nemesis - they have one running on one of their cars and currently doing R & D on it.....

The powers that be at Alta say it's all good!!

Now to save my pennies....... (just the thought of this ECU and the possibilities give me a small chubb....)

Im intrested and in the market for an ECU is this stand alone and how user friendly is it. @ $2000 for full access to the engines potential id go for it providing my tuner could tune it.

yes, they call it "parrallel stand alone" which basically mean it plugs in line to your factory ecu, thus keeping all the std control features. And yes, it is a true standalone, so you can modify any parameter..... sweet!! (I wonder then if it can modify traction control functions..... OH MY GOD!!! THE POSSIBILITIES!!!!)
