M7 new exhaust! fresh off the truck

Oh boy, oh boy!!!

I'm like a kid in a candy store tearing into my newly delivered m7 exhaust and thought I might share some quick and dirty yet tasty pics!

I do not have any numbers on it or sound clips but will post some as soon as it gets installed next weekend and I can find the video camera.

you know what the cool part is? every part that you see is black is.... wait for it..... ceramic coated

you know what they say... pimpin ain't easy! (actually I don't have a clue who says it but it got stuck in my head so I had to share).

Anyway, I leave on a trip for 4 days tomorrow morning so I have no time to get her in the air and have fun. It will have to wait until I get back next weekend.

Yes!!!! All of you Dark Silver Mini's should be loving this set-up. I Know I do, I was going to paint the exhaust tips black, but this is much better.
Come on all of you "Aftermarketeers," M7 & Webb are killing you guys in the American market. Oh Alta is worth mentioning as well.

Hmm, that thing sure looks loud given a second look. Can't wait for a sound post or write-up.

Oh yeah baby! I have a D/S and I was sooo excited to get the black tips. The whole thing is powder coated.

Next weekend I will do both a stock clip and a m7 clip to give you better comparison once I have it installed. I will be doing both the exhaust and a short shifter so hopefully I can them done in one day!

Awesome setup man!! Can't wait to hear the sound...those cans look pretty small so I'm sure it will sound sweet. The clips of the two cars in the M7 video that was released sounds really sweet but I'm sure they have lots more work done to them. It'd be nice to hear what a more close to stock car will sound like. So are they now available for purchasing or did you get one of those pre production systems??? Also why isn't the rest of the system powder coated black?? If its for looks why bother coating so much of the back...none of it is gonna show will it? Maybe I'm just not getting it

Steve,

I got a little lucky and got one of the few that have been available. They are ready for shipping as far as I know and he is supposed to get a batch in next week or the week after.

I wanted the tips powder coated and wasn't concerned about the rest but assume that it is just as easy to do the whole thing as it is a portion. Also the entire back half is ceramic coated in my case so maybe he needed to powder coat it all? Anyway it don't matter much to me! all I care about is what you see sticking out the back, not how it looks underneath.

Yeah the other m7 cars are pretty modded.
I am running a pulley, rear sway bar and m7:
springs
Strut brace
Under Strut System
DFIC (intercooler)
RAM Scoop for DFIC
Oil Catch Can
AGS (V.3 on the way)

hopefully not too modded for you.... with regards to how it will perform and sound. The AGS will certainly have a big impact on the sound you will hear in any video clip I do.

Greetings......

Chris (customAV) got one of the first M7 FreeFlow systems on the market.

When we had our coating facility coat our tips a decision was made to
make a customAV.... test part coated with black ceramic. The production parts are black or polished tips with the rest of the system
stainless.

When I was initially looking for an exhaust, the decision was to find something
better. Our manufacturer has this patented muffler design that aids exhaust velocity for better throttle response and power. So how good is it?????

Let's put it this way, the pearl Cosworth MINI has the system and the sound is incredible, deep clean sound without any ricey pitchy resonances. The power, torque and tip-in throttle response is the best I have tested.

This system is made here in sunny Southern California to my specification
and only the best materials are used.

Introductory price $729.00 + S&H
And is now available.

So how big is it? 2.5" or 3"? And the tips? How about the power?

In that second picture... is the system not flat on the ground? It looks like one tip sticks out a bit more than the other. Optical illusion? Not that I really care as I have a Cooper, and already have an aftermarket exhaust.

I heard this system in person at the Dragon... AMAZING!!
It all tucks up under the car nice and neat, and the choice of black or polished tips is very cool!

For those that are asking for power thoughts please see my first post. This is more of a teaser since it is sitting on the floor of my garage (wow, my kitchen must be a palace if you thought that was my kitchen!) and has yet to be installed.

I will give you a full write up of install and sound next weekend so please stay tuned!

Ok, so when one purchases this exhaust, he/she has a choice of the finish? There could be a black ceramic, or a polished? Anything else, and is there a price difference?

Partsman - any specific description of the sound, or a comparison to your JCW?

Only options on the pipes that I know of are tips, black or polished.

You guys will love this new exhaust. I've had mine for the last 2 months since Mar. Its was a proto type and I agreed with Peter not to say anything about on it on NAM, until now.

Here are some sound clips I made:

I think 34Mini is right, you can get the tips either black or polished. CustomAV got a special test version with black ceramic coating that I suppose could be available for an extra charge. I wouldn't think there would be a price difference for just a change in the tips.
Peter...? Randy...?

It's definitely louder than my JCW, but not obnoxious or ricey. It has a very crisp, deep sound.

Correct me if I am wrong.. but it looks like the center pipe has a slip fitting to the rear part? Reason I ask is the fact that when I had my header put on, it pushed my exhaust out the back of the car about an inch and the guy that installed it had to cut about an inch out of the factory cat back system (which I REALLY wish he would not have done) Anyway, I was hoping I would not have to cut the M7 pipes because I am going to put them on myself.. Looks like I may be safe?
