Well if anyone is interested in knowing if the M7 strut brace will clear this intake, here are pictures to show you (scroll all the way down):

http://web.mac.com/wxsquid/iWeb/Site/Last%20Roll.html

I might be tempted to get this now to replace the pilo intake.

I know you replied to this thread already but I think it helps point to the HDI is a great intake

I guess I am one of those suckers that will need to see more results to justify for spending the extra money!

I got my Pilo intake used at a good deal and that was a month before I even had my Mini! Not this is looking to be another option, just have to think real hard on this one! The extra money I have laying around now is going towards the viper stripes that will get put on in a few weeks! I need more OT!

Just a bit of related info.

There was mention of needing different bolts for clearance of some strut bars. BUtton head stainless was impossible for me to find locally so I ordered some from here:

http://www.boltdepot.com/product.asp...&cm=19&cd=1317

The bolt is a 6mm x 1.0 x 12mm.

They have chrome as well but I bought stainless and will just polish them.

Should end up looking like this:

BTW, the HDI is listed on the Webb site again.

So for the past few weeks Ive been researching and researching on which intake I would like to get. And I think I've decided on the Webb HDI.

Has anyone installed one yet? If so, what do you think?

How does the Webb box differ from the MyMini Cooper S ColdAir Filter Kit #2?

Design wise they seek to address the same issue which is hot air getting in from the engine bay. The standard CAI which uses a rubber strip to seal up against the hood has weak spots, especially lower left corner for the hood indents at that point. How important are these weak spots - well in reality proabably not much considering that a HAI has proven to be an intake alternative but if you are a CAI purist these new sealed boxes are the way to go.

I have the MyMINI box but left the top off because I love to see the ITG filter . The MyMini box uses the same base as their open CAI system so you can opt to use the lid or use rubber stripping which ever floats your boat.

When I asked I was told it would be a couple weeks to a month.
As always that depends on suppliers and supplier quality.

So maybe less than a month.

Perfect timing to save on shipping by buying the Webb exhaust and Webb HDI.

clarification - I had stated earlier that the mymini box could go either way because the base piece was the same as their open CAI BUT I was INCORRECT it is about 1/2 lower soin open style it wouldn't seal up very well if you didn't add additional rubber stripping.

I addded the HDI yesterday and in this Mini world of small improvements for big $ the HDI is a very good improvement over my Alta..... the low end torque has improved very nicely and the overall power has a nice noticeable increase......the quality of the box is vry nice...... the sound inside the cockpit is more refined IMO and while there is still a whine I can hear the Milltek much better than with the Alta....... this is a very good product well worth the $ IMO.... the hardest thing is going to be getting one...... no offense to the Alta but there is a new sheriff in town.

They're longer than the originals. So they reach father down into the intake box and act as heat sinks.
At least .00057823493245843528º F cooler.
