I don't know just how tweaked the Dinan ECU maps are, but they are technically designed for the complete package, so I don't know whether the exhaust and throttle body would have any significance. It would be interesting to get more details. Dinan did tell me that they only just updated the ECU for '06 models about 4 months ago.
I have the throttle body, fuel, intake, pulley and stage 5 . I just did not get the exhaust because i have a milltek

Peak Horsepower: 182 @ 7000 rpm
Oh geeze. Ive got all of that now, except for those darn mats. Dont tell me they arent gonna give me the engine plaque just because i dont have the mats??? Also, i already had the borla and intake Before the Dinan upgrades. I wonder if that disqualifies me to? I will have to call them. Ive been speaking to Scott @ Dinan (forget his lastname) and he is very knowledgable and helpfull

Scott is the rep that helped me. He's a very helpful guy. When I first started talking to Dinan last month they said they could "most likely" waive the floor mat requirement. Don't hold me to that, but that's what they said. I have two issues with the floor mats:

1. They're carpet, I already have MINI rubber mats.
2. WAAAY to expensive!

This weekend was actually the first nice weekend I've been able to get out and really "test" the Dinan additions and I'm very pleased! Now, it's snowing again...

Hey suspsension owners, does the Dinan kit make the back end want to come around easier? I've read about upgraded suspensions that take constant attention and awareness to keep out of trouble, Is the Dinan like that or can you still let your mom drive it?

I dont have the suspension yet but rode in Davids from Mini of the woodlands, he has an S2 plus, all I have to say about that is DAMN NICE CAR. It rides great and handles even better. I would reccomend it, and I'm also saving to get it.

The suspension can be adjusted. The dealership asked if I would like understeer or oversteer. I am assuming that this is not an easy adjustment once it is made. I chose oversteer and at the track I did not notice this - just great handling, so I'm assuming that one would have to go beyond track speeds to get this effect. In stock form, the car did underseer in the rain, which prompted me to make the change in the first place. In addition, the stock car used to hit the front bottom at speed bumps and driveways but with the firmer suspension it doesn't do that any more. This modification is very worthwhile, giving lots of confidence.

I have a call in with Dinan.. Luis at Dinan Tech Support is investigating my fuel tank squealing issue... Basically the tank makes a whining/squealing noise when full which gets better as the tank goes lower, disappearing around 1/2 tank. QueenB has the same issue from what I hear... This is the 2nd time it has started this... Mini of Hawaii replaced the Dinan FPR around X-mas and the noise came back eventually... note: if you have this same issue, might want to place a call into Dinan and talk to Tech Support.. they seem very eager to get this resolved.

Edit: Just talked to Luis (Louis?) at Dinan.. he has the whole ordeal up on his computer from when they replaced it the one before.. Talking with the engineers to get a resolution out to Mini of Hawaii... Yeah!

I got a reply from some of the others around here with Dinan boost upgrades. No one else noticed a difference in sound after the fuel pressure reg change. These are '03 and '04 models. Mine's '06

FYI....fuel pump is on the right and fuel pump filter and pressure reg are on the left in the tank. I think I'm gonna take the cover plates off mine and look around a bit. I still think it is some kind of resonance. Keep me updated with what you find out.

I talked to Scott yesterday and the software is not a deal breaker for the engine plaque. I have every intention of uploading it once I can hand cary the computer into the States. I can't be without the computer for a month while it's mailed back and forth.

Seems Luis at Dinan is having a new FPR tested and then sent out to Mini of Hawaii to make sure the install is done correct..thinking that will solve it or at least narrow down what could be wrong.

Ok, spoke with Scott yesterday and cleared up some confusion. All i am missing to be a "S1" and get the engine plaque is the strut tower brace which i will be ordering soon. He said i can go without the mats, no big deal. Its not performance related anyway!
I guess i get the badge a week later or so. Im picking up the car Friday. I sure hope the weather will be decent out!

Well, i got my car back friday from getting my Dinan mods installed. My service advisor and tech warned me that the car screams now and its a beast.
So i drove off the dealer lot and onto the highway. All i can say is "WOW", just wow. Its like a totally different car! Its been awakened for sure! It def has that " thrill to drive fun" aspect back. Not that it ever left, but its def more fun to drive now. Also, the car brings out the beast in you! Before the instill i dont remember being this aggressive and hard on the car. But man, what fun it is to drive now. Kudos to DINAN and New Country Motor BMW/Mini for thier install and service
2 days after the DINAN upgrades, my car is in the bodyshop getting the aerokit installed. Boy do i miss it now!

What a tease!! You only got to drive it for 2 days? I think that's my fear for when I go the Dinan route. I'll beat up my poor Jerome.

Congratulations on your S1 status. That "thrill to drive fun" stays with the car for a long time.

My car went in yesterday... The same noise started up again from the fuel tank area.... I called Dinan and they sent out a new Dinan FPR assembly...This is the 2nd Dinan FPR replacement on my 06...

It was swapped out yesterday and got the car back about 4:30... doesn't make the noise now...

hopefully, this will be the end of the noise issue... will see what happens over the next few weeks...

Des anyone have any good photos of the Dinan Exhaust tips? I'm looking for several views: close ups and an overall view of the back of the car from a fairly low angle.

Thanks

Tom,

If you don't get any replies, I'm getting the exhaust late this week. I could upload something on Sunday...

Cheers,
Mark Gibson

I have placed two photos in my gallery that might be helpful. The DINAN lettering is quite plain so if you want something to look at I would recommend JCW exhaust tips.
