How accurate was my prediction?

 

since the event did happen...can someone give a synopsis of what ultimately was tested and on what cars at least?

 

 

The tests were done on 1 car. A 2005 Cooper S.

1 - 2X - Stock
2 - 2X - Helix
3 - 2X - Alta
4 - 2X - Stock
5 - 2X - M7

As a note with the HAI, the "Choice" was to respect a manufacturers wishes. And they do Make the filter.

We can assume that you read the thread and knew the truth regarding this, specifically since we were responding to _you_ when you posed these same inquisitions about the k&n earlier on. So, this was likely a wholely inaccurate statement.

True predictions typically are borne of prognostication, and there is good reason to believe that your 'predictions' are not, so this is a deceptive statement.

Andy, this is not your thread. If you box wasn't full, I'd pm you this. This thread regards a recent test of CAIs from NAM vendors that we worked hard to arrange for our MINI community, and that the vendors who participated went to good lengths to facilitate. It is neither proper nor respectful to them or to us for you to clutter this thread with your untimely and inappropriate musings. You will only prevent people from having a fair chance to see and appreciate the complete data sets that we will be providing ASAP, if you keep this thread off topic. Please don't. Thank you.

Out of curiosity, did any of the other vendors send representatives or suggest testing methods or procedures?

 

We will have to wait for hollis to answer this one. He is the one who entered all of the discussions with each company.

 

I assume that M7 is still selling their air intake system, so are the v.2 tubes being sent out with AGS's that are being ordered? Have people with the older (v.1) tube actually received the new version? Is the same manufacturing process being used for v.2 as was used for v.1? Thanks...

 

Were the time intervals between each group of runs comparable? Did you log IAT to see if each group started at similar levels? The same question for engine coolant and oil temperatures? Were similar methods of cooling (fan) the IC used for the different groups? I trust these, and other, methodological points will be addressed in your "article". Will the final copy be sent out for peer review?

The testing methods were discussed and agreed upon by all the vendors. Each one was tested as I discussed with each.

Each company was invited to send a representative, yet the only company to do so was M7. We also invited and had a number of other people show up to watch.

Was your vehicle included in the vehicles that The_R1_Kid observed all running 5 hp or so higher on the second run? If so, how does that reconcile with your control of variables?

All I stated was that TMMZ made a choice to not test the HAI. This is backed up by hollis3's' earlier statement:

hollis3 went out of his way to contact and make an agreement with K&N, a company that had no more to do with this shootout than S&B or Uni (the companies that supply the filters for the other intakes in the test). That was a deliberate choice by hollis3 (as a representative of TMMZ presumably). What's inaccurate about my statement?

Do not start with me. That smart little comment was 100% unneccessary.



I would love to actually discuss this day, it was a lot of fun and nice to see this project take place. But I don't come here to bicker and be attacked and have people "talk down" (note the quotes) to me. I have better things to do with my time. I'm not going to waste my energy posting if everything is just going to be picked apart an disregarded anyway.
