Do you need 100 octane to run map B on stage 2 plus? And does meth make more power than 100 octane?

You should only need methanol OR race gas on map C of 2+. The octane rating for methanol is about 100. The effective rating will be lower because it is mixed with lower rated fuel that is in the tank.

For the second question, I believe that you are asking which makes more power, using race gas or methanol? Assuming that you are flowing enough meth, they should generate the same results. Now methanol is a whole lot cheaper.

+1

Another point to add is that during the summer, I run my Meth in Map B also. Map C requires it , but I do not feel 100% safe with the amount of heat then can be generated when pushing Map B in warm weather. Better safe than sorry IMO.

So you can just run 91 on map b? And also what if you ran race fuel and meth at the same time?

Each Stage is set up differently for each customers request, mods and fuels. Running Map C on a Stage 1 Mini, set up for California gas is fine. Everything is not cookie cutter, so it's important to talk to your dealer, about what you are trying to accomplish

So in other-words heat wise Stage 1 doesn't generate as much heat as Stage 2 with or without a cat?

The stage one runs a little less boost, but the DP would help lower temps. I have done lots of stage 1 tunes and none of them had detention issues. I still tell customers to be smart about their tune, for example no hot humid days to turn to a lower map. Just common knowledge stuff

I have noticed Detonation issues only in extremely low humidity (dry weather), that's when they occur. I'll solve that with HFS-4 and a manic Stage 1, map A in Summer and DP to follow. Saving up $$$$.

"Detonation"...or is "detention" something different?

Speaking of warmer temperatures. What is everyone seeing for exhaust gas temps?

With Stage 2+ and Akrapovic 100 cel DP I see (they may go up as the weather gets warmer):

Normal city driving - 1275 F
Normal cruise At 70 mph - 1350 F
0-80 mph WOT sprint - 1450 F

I'm curious what you catless DP people are seeing? And at what temps does it become a concern?

My city driving is about same as yours. Cruising at 70mph I see temps a bit lower. I'm not sure if I ever seen above mid 1300s. Going to have to pay more attention.

I too am Wondering what others are seeing

I am seeing similar temps with the exception of WOT in which I see 1500 f. Thats at 1.4 bar.

Also, I notice if there is any decline or incline in the road, the 1350 f at 70 mph will vary plus/minus 30 f.

I have a 200 cel 3" DP

I bit the bullet and got my stage 2+ tune yesterday from Mariokart! Also, I got to ride in his GP with the meth kit on map B. Holy smokes!! It is hard to imagine there's still map C to go to!! I am very happy with the tune, and the service from Mariokart is outstanding!

I also bought one of his downpipes and will install after my move. But now, after riding in his GP, I also want a meth kit LOL.

The W/M kit will dramatically lower your intake temps and cool your cylinders for prolonging the life of you engine. Instead of intake temps rising when pedal is WOT they will drop down in temps, cooler condensed air will probably give you more power.

Great meeting you and your family. Your HP addiction has started! Meth is the next step, and it has lots of benefits for our little motors.
Talk to you soon

My HFS-4 kit will be for sale probably next week if u want a meth kit.
Also, That must have been a thrill riding in Mario's car. I wonder if you were in his car when he was boosting 23psi or 26-28psi. Either way its a blast.
