anyone have the part number for the K & N filter that can be used for the HAI?

does this just fit directly onto the T/b ? and just the hose clamp?

BTW, I had a chance to measure the temp of the air inside the HAI filter in steady state 80 mph cruising. The temp over ambient was 5*F or 3*C. I'd be amazed if the stock intake was even that good in terms of temperature. I'll find out this weekend when I swap the stock airbox back on for some testing.

A wonderfully succinct answer. We could all take a lesson.

Step 1) Remove everything related to the air intake from the grille opening to the throttle body.

Step 2) Clamp a K&N RU-1520 directly to the throttle body and figure out something to do with the breather hose (either connect it to an elbow that is stuck into the K&N or attach a small breather filter)

Step 3) Enjoy

I pretty much agree with Andy...

Here's why....

HAI is real inexpensive. Best bang for buck....
CAI is pretty easy to install.
AGS (rev 1 or 2) is a hassle to install. Rev one does about what the Alta does. Rev 2 may change the game a bit.... But there will be several firestorms before we know for sure.

But the best answer is really, "which ever one makes you happy!"

Whoooo I love the sound!

Just did this to our '05 S tonight.

I can feel a very small increase in power but the sound is the best thing.

Will be getting a 15% pully at MOTD next week, can't wait!

I just got my RU-1550 installed. It went pretty smoothly if you don't count the time I dropped the socket in to the radiator fan (my 1/4" Craptsman extension doesn't hold sockets well - fixed w/a bit of shop towel :-)). Going to be testing it out shortly. Now I just need to get the VGS installed.
