I think you may have something minor going wrong with a leak. If you have had the FMIC installed, I would suspect one of the clamps just didn't get tight enough.

Double check that and then try again. If still no luck, call us here ASAP!

Thanks again!

I am looking at getting the ALTA Perf. AP for my 07 MCS and I am wondering as I start adding parts, such as the CAI and the TBE you offer, I will need new tunes. I know you offer other maps, but I am wondering if they are included in the original cost of the accessport or do i pay a fee everytime I need a new map?

Boosted,

When you purchase the AccessPORT, we support you with custom stage 1,2 and 3 for free! They now come preloaded on the AccessPORT so when you do your upgrades, you can just reflash it yourself. We will also be here to help you with any questions you have about the AccessPORT, thanks!

Thats great, I am glad to hear that. Any estimates what I would be looking at with your cai, tbe, and ap as overall whp gains? Just from reading your site and various info posted it seems I would yield roughyl ~50whp/~75-80wtq, does this sound right?

The chart below is TBE + AP - Cold Air Intake. So you can add another 10 WHP for the Intake:

The difference will make you giggle when you hit the gas. Seriously it is an ever larger gain than the chart eludes too.

Questions? Always ask em! Happy to help!

I am wondering this: I have a gt28rs sitting at home, that I want to throw on. I know ATP makes a kit as well. I am wondering can you guys tune the GT28RS? And at what point is fueling an issue?

Hey Adam,
I sent your sales department an email early this morning (Central European Time) and I haven't heard back. I just wanted to know if it was possible for you guys to ship your AccesPort to an APO AE address? I'm in the Army stationed in the Netherlands and would love to purchase one today (my wife gave me the ok, so I want to hurry before she changes her mind ) If you don't see this I will send you an email also.
Thanks for your help!

Eunos, we are still working on the 2011s, the AccessPORT compatibility will be soon. If there's anyone with a 2011 that is willing do drive up to us, or lives in Texas, let us know!

We can make a tune for your turbo, we would have to send a few maps to you, with you sending us datalogs. It can be done. We are also coming out with a bolt on turbo soon too! You can find info on it here.

Poke around some threads on here...many people have tried 28rs', with tons of intial excitement, then you never really hear about them in the end.

The gt28rs is not ideal for this motor. You can put it on and it can be tuned, and it will probably put decent numbers out on the dyno, but it's not going to be to pleasant in how the torque is delivered. If you do a 28rs, it would be best to use it along with a ported head/upgraded valves and a set of suitable cams...so you can rev it up higher to get the most out of the 28.

As far as fueling, it has been said fueling is not an issue till around 300+hp.

So I got to about page 15 and got impatient. I have a few questions that I'm hoping can be answered (basically determining my purchase)

For starters, I just wanted to clarify. Its obvious that a huge bottle neck of the cars power is the cat. I want to run a catless DP for track day. From what I can tell the monitor is deleted right from the start for the secondary 02 right. is this the case no cel for catless dp period.

Im curious as to why you chose to put the power limit where you did. Why 22 lbs? whats the timing advace like compared to stock? and did I read right 10.5 to 1 thats really rich no? I guess what I'm saying is what is keeping you from pushing the envalope even further. IAT heat? fear of knock? just curious.

one of my most important questions is how well can you cater to individual needs? If I buy this Im going to combine the purchase w/meth (almost always a good Idea with high pressure setups and dirty engines) then set it up so the meth turns on with the sport button. Can you push the tune further to make use of the meth and if so how long would it take to get a custom to work with my particular setup.

Im really into to this but my power goals are just a bit higher then you offer out of the gate.

thanks

I was testing the AP on a Mini S but now just picked up my new JCW.

I have updated the unit. Do I need someone from Alta to send me new maps?

Should I wait to install the device? The car is running perfect though the revs now.

The JCW is insane and I can't wait to review the AP unit on one.

Best,
Gene

If you are looking for the most power out of your MINI the AP is where it's at.

You aren't going to get more power than Alta or Jan are offering now - at least not until something new comes out - which will probably be released by Alta or Jan.

Get all of Alta's hard parts and the AP and you'll be getting about the most you currently can. intercooler/turbo back exhaust/AP is currently the winning combo.

I really want to buy an AccessPort, but the bouncy idling issue has me a little concerned, and I haven't seen where it's been fully addressed by Alta.

I would use a Stage 1 map. This is my fifth MINI (currently 2009 factory JCW). I remember getting a software update on my 2001 MCS which introduced the engine stumble that took nearly six months to get rid of with a new update, so I don't want to spend money on something that is going to introduce an idle issue - although, I know that I can at least roll this back to stock if I don't like it. I'm still left out $1,000 if that's the case.

I just recently updated the car's software to take it to the latest 2011 level which was supposed to include the torque steer fix - although because of the weather I haven't driven the car since I picked it up two weeks ago.

Thanks for the info. And, yes, I have read through most, if not all of the pages of this thread for those of you who want to complain about me asking questions, and, I haven't seen this idle issue put to rest.

Thanks Gene for asking and congrats on the new JCW!

You do not need to get anything other than the latest firmware update. That will have all the latest maps to match your JCW.

If you have any questions, PLEASE just let us know!

WOW all the pages! That is great!
So the only cars with idle issues have been Autos. Even then its pretty far and few between. With these cars we have narrowed it down a couple of ECU versions and have sent out maps that fix the issue. This fix is going to be pushed out to all Auto ECU's shortly, but until then if anyone has an issue, let us know and we will email you a map.

If you did have an issue with ANY model, we can for sure fix it and or figure out what is going on using the power AccessPORT logging tools. A few guys we have helped figure out issued with their car (having nothing to do with the AP). That is where we can do better than other non-AP tuners, we can make changes and take care of you!

Also if you get the AP and it doens't do what you want and we can't fix it, then send it back for a refund. WE have yet to have ANYONE send it back because it didn't make them happy.
