You may want to update this on your FAQ at the beginning of the post. I think it still says the opposite.

Also, how do you setup the launch control?

I'll be heading to the dyno this weekend!

If you already installed the AP to your car, you need to uninstall it, then update, then install it. Part of the installation process looks at your ECU type and then deletes the other 100 maps that do not work for your car. Then it will display the ones that will work.

Worked like a charm. Thanks for the quick update!

Has anyone tried using the 0-100km/h monitor thingy? I tried it a few times and it only shows me the 0-200m time - quarter mile, 0-100km/h etc. remain blank.

I used it like so: click Performance, click 0-100, then it says "please accelerate" - so I floor it until I'm at around 130 (on a closed road, of course); then I stop and check the screen - and it's missing data.

It did this to me too when I was trying to datalog. I just unplugged it, and plugged it back in, and it worked. That's all I can recommend really, sorry.

Hit the dyno today. Will get the graph up later, but here's the results: 242trq and 221hp in a 4th gear pull. AFR was pretty flat from 11.6-12.0. Mods are listed in sig.

I think creeve meant the opposite cuz yeah, almost every R56 I've seen puts down more torque numbers than hp. In any case, those are some seriously incredible numbers man. Looking forward to seeing what the heck you got under the hood.

hahaha trust me... you'lll know VERY soon! i'm going to see if a little bit of tuning won't yield a more even field... my goal is 250whp and at least 250wtq on Helix's Dyno... if i can do that, i'll be a VERY happy man!

Can you tell us the type of dyno you are tuning on? Hope you make your goal of 250WHP & 250 Lbs torque that would be awesome, please keep us posted.

I'm tuning on Helix13's Mustang Dyno (nicknamed "The Heatbreaker" :P)

WOW!!! That make your results even more impressive. You are not the first one to refer to the Mustang dyno as a heartbreaker. If you were on a Dynapack hub dyno your numbers would be through the roof.

I don't know if anyone's noticed this on their AccessPORT, but when I look at my actual throttle position, it never goes above 90%. So my numbers weren't even true full throttle. I asked for a conservative tune, so I'm happy with my results. When I get back in a year, that's another story. BTW, yes mine is a JCW.

You've done something with the turbo itself. The reason we aren't getting high HP numbers is our turbos run outta breath at higher rpms. You've either modded it somehow or completely replaced it with a larger one.

I'd bet you are putting out less boost at 3k rpm than me but more at 6k rpm than me. That would explain the hp/tq numbers.

So which car do you think would be faster, 248hp/222tq or 222hp/248tq?

I noticed the same thing but mine tops out at about 80%. I figured maybe that was typical. Now I'm wondering if the throttle needs to be recalibrated somehow. Maybe Alta could compensate in the tune?

i would imagine that the higher hp car would be faster... point in case, BMWs E90 M3... 444hp and 280 some torque... that's very minimal torque but it's faster than Audi's new S4 which has more torque but less hp... 333 hp and 325 lb-ft, that car's faster than the outgoing V8 too...

then again it's also imho a balance game... globs of torque can help you accelerate no matter WHERE you are (turbo diesels anyone...) and high hp can be ridiculously fun as well (Honda K-Series and F-Series engines).

THEN you have to factor in suspension setup, spring rates, dampening, swaybars, brakes, wheels, tires. hell remember that the original MINI was trampling American V8 Muscles cars in British Touring Car Races when it came out, not from power, but from light weight, great suspension, and it's ability to carry momentum through a corner better than those other nose heavy V8s...

i always had the notion that if you want a fast straight line car get a big V8 or Italian Exotic and hit a drag strip, but if you want a fast lap time car... power's good but weight, suspension and brakes will play just a LITTLE bit more role than power ... if you took two MINIs... one completely stock but had ALL power mods to it (so every bolt on with a tune) and one with the best possible wheels, tires, brakes, suspension all setup for that particular track... i'd put my PINK slip on the fact that the car with suspension work would DESTROY the power one due to traction in corners, ability to keep more speed in the corners, better exit speed, better balance, all around later braking and of course having the ability to do more than one lap before falling apart in the braking division, adhesion and understeer.

BUT ANYWAY... back to the question at hand... i honestly don't know... considering the same weight, suspension, brakes and tires... i'd say it'd be really hard to say... just cuz no two cars are exactly the same.... i would have to say i think i'd give quite a few people a good run on a track though

Hey John, that 17% doesn't include the tuner does it?...lol

Depends how long they are racing. The higher torque will always get the jump, but the higher hp car will win in the end.

Torque gets you moving....horsepower keeps you moving.

How are you checking this? Datalog or live data and just watching the tps value?

Totally depends on the track IMO. If you're doing SCCA in a parking lot, definitely the trq. If you're doing the Nurburgring, definitely HP.

They sent me 2 of the same tune, one with stock throttle setup, another with "ALTA throttle setup". They have yet to answer me what the difference was between the two, but I was hoping there's would've made it 100%, but it didn't.

On the AP, they have the actual throttle position, and a pedal position by % that you can monitor.
