Drivetrain Randy, whatever happened with your plug testing?
From M7 Plasma Booster Eval
So what ended up happening with this? I was interested in what sort of gains were found from Pilo coils and/or aftermarket plugs on the Dyno...
...I'm in the middle of evaluating different plug set-ups and will give another write up on that in a week or so...I'll be sure to keep you guys in the loop on what I find out. I'm testing NGK, Denso, Bosch, and Accel in different heat ranges...
He is but he is moving evals, how-to's etc over to his site.
Try to snag him there. http://www.webbmotorsports.com
Under Garage is the forum.

Look...I don't need another site to check. You know? There's nothing on his site about plugs and that sort of thing. Randy has made his living off of THIS site. What gives with exluding the thousands here and making knowledge accessible only to those perusing his site? Am I the only one that finds this a little disconcerting?
Yes...
It makes since to me that he'd want to move stuff over there. People who happen upon his site can find all the info there instead of having to find it here, which they may never do.

coop, I was not suggesting that you have to move sites, I still spend 80% of my
time on this site, just that Randy has a new form and when I made the suggestion
I was trying to help you get intouch with Randy and I had just seen him post
on his site and figured maybe try and catch him over on his site before he left.

No, no...I understand what you were saying, Darxar, and I appreciate your help. I'm just saying that I don't have the time to check forums in four different places. I realize that there are people who are able to keep up with things on NAM, MINI2, Roadfly, bridger.us/mini, and now webbmotorsports Garage, and it's great that they're able to do that; unfortunately, I don't think that a lot of us can do that.
Further, I realize why Randy is trying to make active forums on his site. It only makes sense to try to draw people onto a commercial site by luring them on with free information. I have no problem with promotion, and I realize that we all have to pay the landlord somehow!

I understand how you feel Chi-Town.
"However, I am (to some degree) calling Randy out. He is typically considered to be at the forefront of MINI performance development, and losing his helpful voice on this site would be a major blow. Also, there are thousands of members of NAM, and they're not all performance oriented people. Randy's answers to basic maintenance questions are also needed, and people that have those sorts of questions aren't on his site looking for him"
Losing Randy from this site brings a tear to my eye

COOP,
I didn't abandon you! I made the move to aleviate both myself and Mark from possible political issues. It is much easier for me to make an honest assessment on my own forum without getting anyone in trouble, and it does help generate more traffic through my own website, but I promise that was not the motivation for it - and I'm sure Mark F. would back me up on that.
As for the testing, I'm still doing some ignition testing. I have a Pilo coil on the way and an MSD coil here, so I figured I would post the entire eval on ignition systems at once.
Here is a breakdown on the plugs:
The Densos are running at the top of the list
The NGKs are doing well in the colder heat range
The Accels were about the same as stock in the same heat range
I still need to get the Bosch on the dyno
I carry the Accell and the Denso plugs currently, and will probably offer the Bosch after they are tested and we find out how they do.
I also want to say that I miss MCO, er NAM, and would love to have the time to devote to both, but the truth is, I really don't. I check up on NAM to be sure to stay abreast of anything I missed new in the market.
I've been implementing so much new stuff into the business, and the forum was just a part of trying to make Webb Motorsports the best in the industry. I totaly appreciate your point of view, and I would love to hear from you on ideas that would make the business better.
Hope that helps!

Thanks for the comments, Randy. I appreciate your position, and I understand it better now. I just wish that we here at MCO/NAM could now have some impartial/non-commercial MINI guru come forward on to take your place and to tuck us all into bed at night!
Thanks a lot Randy! I guess I'll just be seeing you on webbmotorsports from now on.
