Well guys, after endless problems with my car....another issue has come to surface. I just replaced my clutch with the Valeo Single mass conversion kit back in June. I worked the thing in like I was supposed to, and have only put 1,200 miles on it. Well yesterday I was downshifting to turn onto the highway when I heard a thud and a kind of pop. I let out the clutch and nothing happened. Pulled over and inspected the car, which was running fine, got back in to drive away, and saw the clutch wouldn't engage when trying to let it out. It's like the car is in neutral. You can let the clutch out in any gear, and nothing happens. The only thing that happens is... when you put the car in 6th, you hear a whirring/ grinding noise, and start to smell the clutch burning. I really have no idea what happened other than, my guess, that the clutch burnt out. You also don't need to press in the clutch when trying to put it in gear. The pedal feels fine and has no travel problems.

Anyway, my mechanic hasn't taken the car apart yet. But whatever the problem is, it has to be coming from the clutch assembly. So since the Valeo kit was kind of noisy, and you could hear flywheel chatter, I'm going to put my OEM flywheel back.

Since the Valeo is still under warranty, I'm going to try and get my money back, or just have it replaced with new parts, but I'm not sure I'd trust to put Valeo back in my car.

My car is running a CAI, A 16% S/C pulley, JCW injectors, the JCW cat-back exhaust, and Brisk racing plugs.

Based on all of this, what would you guys do in my situation? Would you put back the Valeo, or get another clutch? And what brand would be best?
