Has anyone bored and stroked there motor yet so they can utilize a bigger turbo maybe go to like 2.2 or even 2.4litre so you could run a really nice 50trim setup like the srt4s are notorious for running just curious? 1.6litre is small to be running a bigger turbo setup. Even just 2.0litre would be a decent improvement and is there any reason these things can't be attained such as the cylinders being to close together and due to wall thickness that there would be issues with heat? Maybe one of the techs on here could inlighten me on this! Thanyou for any and all responses!!

Just get an intercooler and the AP for now and you'll be happy for quite awhile.

Here are a few photo's to answer your question, as to the difficulty regarding increasing the bore size, on the N14/B16 engine.

I checked the P/N on my 2009 factory JCW and the P/N is 5303 970 0146 and not the 5303 988 0146 you have. So does anyone know what the difference is between the turbo I have on my 2009 factory JCW and the turbo Thumper has ?

There is no difference between the two individual turbo's, the (970) or (988) is simply a factory internal supply line identifier.

We are planning on shipping our oem mcs turbo out to have the housing milled and larger compressor wheel installed in the spring. I figured before we go ahead and do that i would just put it out there that if any of you who have done the upgrade wind up de-modding i would be happy to trade oem turbo plus cash on our end if you want

If you check the part number 53039880146 it is actually the JCW Part Number. Standard MCS finishes in either 0118 or 0163 as they changed part number at some point.

Again...those are too big.

Take a ride in a car that has either a JCW turbo or a hybrid K03 and you will see that anything bigger is really unnecessary, unless you want 300+whp (which you will find is useless). Even if you can get close to that, it won't be a very nice power curve, rendering the power pretty useless.

I was thinking about adding the Snow performance Water/Meth injection to control the heat http://www.snowperformance.net/stage-1-boost-cooler.html along with sending the turbo out to gpop shop to get the hybrid upgrade done http://gpopshop.com/services/turbo-upgrades/ and using the stage 3 turn on my access port has anyone done this upgrade and run the access port?

WAI kit its a partial solution for intake, but the real problem is the heat from turbine exhaust. Its very, very small
