I'm writing checks for a new coilover suspension, etc. & big-valve head. It certainly won't be for Cross or RMW head & my main reason is due to perception and the manner in which all of stuff goes down. It doesn't bother me at all to spend more, as long as I'm not funding this behavior. That's my perogative & I'm exercising it.
I was going to ask the same question. I'm not a fanboi by any means, I just believe in his products. Let us know when you finally decide to take Jan up on his offer of pre-dynoing with said inferior head/no RMW cam and after RMW cam... Just know you would have gotten more HP with his head b/c his cam was designed to work with it
Blimey, a month or so ago you were a bit of a sceptic about the RMW tune. How did it work out? Blog update? Must have been good b/c you're talking about a cam.

Huh, that might the case & I'm not asking for details, but that's a cryin' shame as I thought Nitro had good stuff to offer and I enjoyed his posts. I agree 100% with JIMINNI that based on the tone of these threads (& the piranha-like posting mentality) if you're not in the groovy RMW inner circle then you're pretty much a leper. But since I have a RMW part on my car then I have license to post....
Quick story, two cars nearly exactly the same in extent of mods (different manufacturers for a couple things): mine with RMW cam, the other with stock cam dyno'd same day, same dyno, near same conditions. My car put out less hp & less torque. I'm not sure I buy the "knowing how to tune the cam..." comment. My butt dyno says there's a before/after difference but the numbers don't lie. Thoughts?

The funniest thing about this whole thread is that---it's supposed be announcing the new cam and that orders are being taken---yet we have the thread being dragged down by an unhappy customer who won't even accept the generous offer of the manufacturer to make things more than right.
Now that's just plain strange to me. That could have been handled by PM's or in a thread devoted to requesting the manufacturers support...
Why make a private matter public, and why complain about the manufacturers supporters when this is obviously a thread announcing the availability of his product where the supporters will flock to?
Now back to the subject at hand---I've got a cam on order---Sept. 8?? Can't wait!!! Littlehandegan---get my injectors in the mail!!! lol--

it will run fine with the stock tune. It will run even better when tuned
I knew it was going to come up! Yes, in the end my RMW cam didn't count for extra hp or torque as Jim beat me by 1hp. Aside from my DFIC & cam, we have the same approximate setup (different manufacturers for some parts), but Jim's ambient temp was 9-10degrees cooler than when I was running......so when do you want a re-match.
If any of the 03's were to put down bigger numbers I was glad it was my man Jim. I guess the only thing in common was that they were MINI Cooper S's right?

I think this explains it QUITE clearly. From the Fresno/Emil tune thread:
so, to recap. The 'same' setup that made 1hp less has: a DFIC (which we know is no dyno queen), different manufacturers for some parts and was dyno'ed at a 10F higher temp.
