Good for you. That really takes some dedication and I have a lot of respect for anyone that can pull that off .

Now move to So Cal so you can fix me knee (martial arts) and my two bad shoulders (surfing). Can you be here next week .

Didn't know you practice martial arts!

I'm an instructor myself in the Chinese Martial arts. What type of art do you practice?

I am pretty sure the 2.0 liter comes with Jan's head and cam. A buddy of mine got basically the turbo kit seen above from Fireballed and it was roughly (ballpark) $15,000. I have heard that the stroker will be somewhere in the 10-12,000 ballpark. Add the turbo kit and it's probably another (3-6,000). Slapping a turbo on the stroker probably won't be too complicated considering you already have a bulletproof bottom end (pistons, rods, head, clutch and all that). I could be wrong, but thats what I'm guessing based on talking with Jan and my buddy who did the Turbo kit. Thats still not including upgraded fuel system, meth injection, or any other crazy ad on's. Oh, and thats no labor either. haha I am pretty sure that if you showed up and presented Jan with $20,000 he could get you a pretty sick setup...

Unfortunately, my tax refund isn't here yet, so I will have to wait to give him my $20,000 next week. hahaha i wish.

Jan already commented on the power his 2.0 stroker made with I believe 9 or 13 psi of boost? I want to say 365 whp, but I could be mistaken. Go over the first few pages of this thread, I think it's in there.

Reliability - The stroker is currently so overbuilt that it could probably handle daily loads of 600+ HP without any issues.

Driveability - Why would it be any less drivable than a car with 250 whp. The gas pedal isn't an on and off switch, you just need less of it in this case to do the same thing.

Front Mount - Jan/Megamini already addressed this, the customer who owns the car wanted to pay homage to a certain vendor that didn't support him when one of their products blew his motor, so they tested it this way to see just how much power they could make with that IC. They have other types of IC's planned in the future.

Lead time - This stuff is pretty much build as you go, I don't think Jan's going to stockpile 10 stroker motors and sell them that way, he'll more than likely build to order. Lead time I'd imagine is a month, maybe two. As for the turbo kit, all the parts are pretty much out there and available save maybe the turbo manifold and a few other brackets and things. Again, this type of kit is more than likely a "Build to order" kit, it's not going to be something they're going to stockpile on shelves by the dozen.

The touch on what the above poster said, this stuff is all modular, if you already have a head and just want the prebuilt shortblock, I'm sure Jan can accommodate. Likewise if you have the stock head just want a 2.0 liter crate motor to drop in, I'm sure that option will exist too .

Oh, and:

You know I call and got a generic answering service. And RMW website has no prices and for the most part very little information. It is like most of there posts..informative but illusive and secretive??

I just wanted to know how much larger the intake and the exhaust valves they are using over the stock. That can't be that hard a question considering I am under the impression that dozens are on the Mini's here on the NAM ? Not like I am asking for the secret formula which I presume is/should be in the porting not the valve size.
GEEEEZ This is what happened when I asked for there spec's on there cam. You think I was asking for the U.S. nuclear codes. LOL
I can't believe that so many would buy there product with out the simple information of what you are installing in your engine and getting for your money???
Here in Sacramento Mini Mania and a few other's are more then helpful about there product information?

^This has been said over and over and over...but nobody understands...

Jan=leader at everything Mini

Everyone Else= competition trying to find out his secret formulas

Nothing wrong with this...If I was Jan, I would be doing the same thing It is how you stay ahead...realize his competition has yet to catch his old records...

I can't belive that so many would buy there product with out the simple information of what you are installing in your engine and getting for your money???

You clearly are unfamiliar with, or perhaps very familiar with, this industry. I'm not sure if Jan has publicly posted the information that you ask for or not, but here's a nutshell of why he may not want to give out this information: any time that there is a performance part that's uniquely good in this industry, it is copied. Because of the relatively small volume of parts that vendors are able to sell, it is financially impossible to protect novel ideas and technology with patents. Relying on the integrity of competitors is impossible. If some company is really motivated to copy a part, they'll figure out a way, but why make it easy.

Even if you're a custom engine builder who understands how these motors work, you're not going to be able to evaluate the performance of the head by knowing the valve size. There's more to it. You'd be better off looking at the wealth of dyno information out there.

No I read..everything is educational. Since I bought my Mini in January I have read hundreds of past threads/posts on at leasta dozen forums. Both here and in the UK. Those guys (UK) are a bit friendlier in the performance end. LOL
The biggest thing I have noticed is that what seems to be a good thing in print now later is a not so good. 1 example : AGS ? And ONLY rmw will not give spec's on his parts ? Because it is a hard part it is only a matter of a short time before someone thinks to check them out before it is installed and posts them for everyone to see. Also it is very clear by the postings that it is his tune that gives the highest gains not his parts.
Research of the parts and equipment will save you time and money.

LOL I think I am about 20 years older then you.
I will wait until you have one of your tune visits around Sacramento.

I just wanted to see what kind of business RMW was. I was surprised to find it would appear a home one. Nothing wrong with that but it does answer a few questions !
