I think it was stated pretty clearly that's not the case here--non vendor product discussion is permitted to a certain degree.
But if that pizza joint becomes an actively discussed thread where it's obvious that more and more members are buying their food because of the discussion, and NAM is being used as an advertising/marketing vehicle through these discussions especially by certain very active individuals that seem to be more passionate than the typical pizza lover, then probably that joint could expect a call from the IB vendor guy.
That's how I see it anyways.
Mark indicated that he wasn't closing or shutting anything down--he was just asking people to tone down their posting style to not make it sound like they were promoting the heck out of said company. IB will make the final decision anyways.

Just to play a devil's advocate here, but does this apply only to Mini products? What if I post about a local pizza joint that I like and makes a great pizza. And what if a few other folks check it out and post about their experience and the great pizza. Will NAM then contact the establishment and ask for advertising $$$? And should they refuse will we no longer be able to discuss pizza made at this place?

I speaking from my own POV. I'm not speaking for NAM. But trust me, posts like this are going to get this thread locked and deleted. You aren't helping Voltage or any of the people in this thread.
Octane, my post was not directed at you. I was just commenting on the current status of the site. I probably won't post to this thread again or I risk having my account suspended for a week for being a hater, per the new rules.
The above posts are exactly what I'm talking about and is case in point about what I'm tired of seeing. The site was meant to be a ground of sharing info not bashing, second guessing, and post beating people to death. Over the preceding months its become the soapbox of a few select people that feel compelled to try to overrun every opinion on the site.
