450cc injectors

Would a stock 95-99 turbo eclipse 450cc injectors be compatible with the MINI?

I have no opinion on the Eclipse injectors, but why not spend the money on poroper ones? RC? Alta? M7? etc???

I have RC Engineering injectors that I had for my Integra still sitting around in my room. They wouldn't be acceptable for the MINI, right?

what you spend trying to buy "CHEAP" injectors you will end up spending 2x as much on the dyno time trying to get them from chucking codes and puddling

My roommate was offering his 450cc injectors to me and I was just wondering if it would be safe to put in the MINI.

it's a valid question. From talking to many tuners there seems to be an agreement. Quantity vs. Quality of spray.

Basically quantity is typically needed over stock to run a raised rev limit. However, if you have to give up spray pattern and spray quality to get it you're going to negate all the gains you would have gotten from the larger injectors. That's why you see rmw sourcing his own upsized injectors for his head or using jcw injectors for cars which are running the jcw or stock head.

The biggest concern for the M45 equipped MCS's is having a stock height injector such that you don't push the fuel rail into the intercooler. If you can't put your car back together, it's all kinda moot.

also.....keep in mind, before you re-use an injector you should get the service RC offers to clean and calibrate them. Spending that $100 can save you 50x that down the road when it comes time to tuning. It's not unheard of for the injectors to be unmatched.....one producing less pressure/flow. Heck, we've seen it on Perrin injectors for the Subaru's a bunch...brand new. Usually, it's not their fault, but a bad injector from the start (since most are drilling out OEM for better flow)
