So if that was the culprit, what did you do to fix it? Zip ties? Duct tape?

Good guess

Zip tie! I found the hard line was touching the hood because the turbo inlet hose is so much bigger than stock.

THANKS!

Will do - thanks again! Just (impatiently) waiting for JSC Speed to get all the other ALTA parts back in stock. Don't worry, I'm not blaming either of ya'll.

Good to know. So did you ziptie it to the inlet tube or what?

I was thinking some foam insulation wrapping the line might be the route to take, as I don't think anything should be permanently attached to or touching the inlet hose.

Not sure what the long term solution will be, but for now I tie wrapped it to the inlet hose loosely. The hard line was barely touching the bonnet so hog tying it down was not necessary.

I don't have anything connecting or tethering my tube solid. (and mine doesn't rattle!) I agree it should NOT be hard tied to the inlet. My thought would be to use the zip tie, but go through the loop on the fresh air tube below. Allow some play, but not unrestricted movement.

Thoughts?

Upon further review...

Problem solved. Seems during the install the installer (me) must have pulled on the hard line causing it to come slightly forward from the firewall. It was easy to guide it a little back through the one retainer (on the supply air tube) to it's original position. This lowered the line across the top of the big *** turbo inlet hose & rattle be gone.

YIKES, if I may ask, where are you ordering from??? That seems like way too long of a delay, especially since you already paid for it.

I actually received my turbo inlet hose an hour after I posted that, but the CAI is still somewhere else. I ordered right from the ALTA website. Don't let my experience scare you though; They have been nothing but helpful trying to get my stuff straightened out. I would order from ALTA again in a heartbeat. But now that I've had a taste, I want the whole shabang!!!

Eagerly awaiting my CAI!!!

WOOHOO, well congrats on the hose arriving; I want mine!!! No reservations whatsoever concerning ALTA, I know they're on top of things. Totally know how you feel - that's why I'm so eager to get my turbo inlet hose on. I feel how much power the CAI and boost tubes have reaped, so the hose will complete that. And once I get my turbo back exhaust and FMIC on... YIKES!

Sounds like you're doing exactly what I have planned. You will love the inlet hose! On my bone-stock R56 there is a noticeable difference. Probably the easiest way to bolt-on HP.

Also I want to repeat myself by saying how great Adam and everyone at ALTA has been in sorting out my stuff. Come spring I might as well sign my tax return check over to you I've got quite the shopping list...

Yep - basically have plans for every single bolt-on ALTA part available. Thank God I just got a better job - entire paychecks will be going over to ALTA at this rate. It's just the wait that's killinggg me, I want my inlet hose NOW! Patience... It's overrated. How I wish I lived in the NW. Are you planning to get the ECU tune as well?
