The distance and the composition of the material in the bar. If you are interested in reducing the fender gap, increasing turn in, lowering the center of gravity and simply enjoying the car a whole lot more, then look to the H&R springs and ALTA SwayBars to do the trick!

Let me know if I can ever help further! Thanks guys and gals. Hope you all are enjoying the weekend!

How does the composition of your bar differ from the stock bar? Torsion enhanced red paint?

I really doubt the front swaybar is any different between the stock and sport suspension. I am experiencing the neutral handling of my stock suspension MCS in the middle setting on the Alta 19mm bar. I think whether you have sport suspension or not that will be the best setting.

Some nice camber plates would be good.

Thank you for asking! While the Red Baron Powdercoat gives the bar an strong finish it does not enhance the torsional rigidity. But the 4140 Solid Steel Rod used to make the ALTA Sway Bar does.

If you Click HERE! and go to our website you can see the torsional calculations.

Thanks again for asking!

If the front bar has more umph from the sport suspension it will more than likely be necessary to adjust the rear ALTA bar one step higher in stiffness to better compensate and keep the rear neutral or stepping out as you desire.

Thanks for the comment and the purchase!

I see where it says you use 4140 steel, but how do you know the stock bar doesn't?

The stock bar material isn't in question, as it should be made of something close to 4140 steel. The % difference in strength from the OEM material to what we use, is very small. There is really no way to know what the stock bar is made from, without spending a good deal of money. Which isn't really worth doing unless there is a Mini guy out there that might be able to do a side job.

All of our calculations on our site are based off using the same material for both our bar, and stock. Our bar is stiffer in 2 ways, bigger diameter, and using the different positions.

The position farthest from the pivot is the softest setting and of course, the closest setting is stiffer. Since our newer bars have 3 holes, the center hole represents the OEM arm length, but the 19mm or 22mm diameter. The farthest hole is a softer setting for those who may want a 22mm bar, but want to test the waters on a slightly less aggressive setting.

BTW, the stock swaybar diameter is 17mm, only mentioning as someone said 18mm earlier.

I only asked because Adam said they differed in composition.

No sweat. It's nice that you're so passionate and supportive of the stuff you make or sell. I'm just a glutton for information.

That was me, and while the stock bar is 17mm, I made the now regretful (only because of my modification plans) decision of getting the factory sport suspension, which would make my rear sway bar 18mm

So our 19 or 22mm will still be a dramatic increase in rear snap!

Adam,

I know you sell wheels, but do you sell tires aswell?...packages??

And, if it's possible, I'm very interested in the new Goodyear Eagle F1 Allseasons packaged together with the 17" Konig Britelite wheels in RED

Hi guys,

I don't know if this is useful,
I Have done a dyno on the flywheel for my 07 MINI COOPER S with only ALTA INTAKE fixed amd SPORT MODE ON. Maybe it can be of some use for reference.

Max Power Output is : 217.62 hp (ONLY with ALTA AIR INTAKE W/ SCOOP REMOVED.)

for WHP should take away 15% plus which is around 184.9WHP.. FIY

Next to come : Milltek Catback Exhaust system... till then..

Very strange chart. Surely torque & power curves should always cross at 5250rpm !

Dynos look good! Yes the scaling is wrong, that is why they do not cross. Our Dynapack reads the same on that graph. Also the Nm, vs. ft-lbs makes that not work also. But the power seems pretty good! Too bad there is no before and after!

Milltek is next??? What about our 3" system?? It will make more power!
