So with the inlet hose going from the turbo to the intake will I lose that wonderful "wush"/"psssssh" sound from my intake?
Am I right to assume that it would take the BOV stuff and send it back through the turbo? As you can tell I'm super novice about this kinda stuff.

I think I will give the Boost tubes a whirl as my next upgrade

(I think I may have pointed to both on Howard last weekend. Sorry if I goofed.) You may be able to install them yourself, without having to have GPi do it. Let me know if I can answer any questions though! Thanks for asking! adam@altaminiperformance.com

No sound change there. (You hear Howard whooshing away and it has em on it!)

Thanks again for your continued patronage!

Second: Coming soon! There were gains, but no dyno charts at the time the part was released. Now we have some and ALTA2 is cleaning them up. There is a slight change in noise, but I have had these on Howard for a few months and I haven't noticed any change at cruise etc. It is NOT purely cosmetic as earlier thought.

Finally: The diverter will keep airflow going through the core proerly. Thus increasing its efficiency. While hard to show in a dyno plot on a stationary vehicle, but the FMIC will be working more efficiently.

Hope that helps! Let me know how I can ever help further!

Hi Adam. I'm in Lancaster, about 45 minutes from Philadelphia. But great, I'll definitely be going for the boost tubes as well to complement the CAI. I was on the fence if it was just for the looks but with performance gains, I'm decided. More then likely I'll be ordering the air diverter since I probably won't be able to get the ALTA FMIC on for awhile. Thanks so much for all of the info. Can't wait to get these parts on my MINI.

Up north, R/T Tuning in Landsdale PA (up Rte. 309) is very good - we used them for alot of tuning and engine work. They're familiar w/ Minis too since we keep bring ours in over there for dynoing.

I've got some more I can reccomend based on geography and location.
Thanks to both you and jascooper for the recommendations - Helix it is! Unless of course you know of a place closer to my area (Lancaster). Lansdale is almost an hour further away from me then Philly is. Also I have a really good friend at Penn so I could just chill with her while waiting for the parts on my baby to be installed. I'm planning on ordering the parts online anyway, so no worry if the installation shop doesn't carry ALTA parts. I may be purchasing from JSC speed actually... We'll see!

I've never been to Helix, but their reputation is top notch. Eric is your man over there. JSCSpeed is over near Mongomeryville Mall. It's really just a warehouse in an industrial park. Get real good directions from them, as it's a tough place to find. Keep an eye out for Candyman's Astro Black R56. I'm hoping he'll take me for a spin in his Alta loaded ride some time. Hint, hint Chris...

I've been having trouble getting anywhere on their website for the last couple of days. I get the message 'unable to select database'. Shop around first because JSC has a price match guarantee on most (if not all) parts. This page you can get to and has a lot of info you want to see:

http://www.jscspeed.com/rides/projec...oject_mini.htm

You might also check for BMW shops in your area, as they often have some experience with MINI's, and have talented techs to satisfy fussy Beemerphiles.

Thanks so much for the advice! Hmmm, so I may just go with JSCSpeed after all, then get the parts installed over at R/T Tuning since they're so close to each other. Sounds like a plan, especially since all 3 of the parts I'm looking to purchase have the price match guarantee. I'm unable to compare prices now as I'm getting that same error message but I'll be sure to confirm before taking the drive over.

Hey ALTA,
Just wanted to say I ordered your CAI (and I can't wait to get it!) About how long should I expect it to take to get here? There was nothing about whether it is in stock or not. I hope it ships soon!!!

;( I just found out it's back-ordered!!! Hope its back in stock soon...

Depending on where you are will determine ship time. We are in Oregon, so west coast areas are generally 3 days. East coast is 4-6 days.

THANK YOU for your business it is truly appreciated!

Hey Adam, can we get those new dyno #s from the mule?
And also, how about package deals? Like intake/inlet tube/boost tubes/intercooler for example. Or something. Food for thought

Im so excited to see the numbers!

Thankfully, all of your gauge options will be available. Still finalizing the details. I started on the gauge installation and write up last night in my personal car. I am doing, water temp, boost right away, then EGT and Oil Temp in short order.

I will poke again about the dyno numbers. I saw Jeff yesterday prettying the charts for publishing.

Thanks again folks!

The answer depends on which one. The Water Temp and Boost are a breeze. The EGT requires a bit more work. I may be moving like mole-asses, but I promise I will get the write up to you guys and gals asap. Plus I have kits I could sell if I was just done !

Chat soon my friends!

Adam,

Yes the water temp and oil pressure combo is high on my list since I'm so old school.

How will 4 gauges work with the pod setup, this I have to see in your setup?

Lots of pictures, please. Thanks.
