Well, I'll be there but the event was sold out before I got around to registering. Reguardless - I've packed the car and will see if Ian can fit me in but if it's a full run group, which it should be, I may just watch. 30 cars on track at LRP is no good for MINI's...we need to be able to keep the momentum up!

I'll be there about 11am or so. I'll look for you guy's by the paddock break, near the waste recycling spot??

I will be there around 11:30 am. VV will be there around that time. Save some spots for us if you are early.

So did everyone get there on time

Well, how was it? It was cool, cloudy and windy here.

And one more thing done for next season - new Invidia exhaust

Great day today! Middle two sessions were the best as far as track temps.

Slinger apparently suffered another CV boot failure at some point in the day - gook all over his l/f wheel when he took it off..

VV had a wheel lug bolt break after the day was over when switching wheels/tires.

Suess and I made it thru unscathed..

Slinger and I did a bit of agricultural driving in the Big Bend area but no issues..

Great end of the season!!!

Yup, looks like the cv is toast again. Not a major problem right now since the car is just a DD. Thinking about alternatives right now to less lowering.

Certainly seems like the car has become not reliable. Perhaps it is time to also think about something else for the track.

I wonder if you just got a bad part, or if it is something about your suspension setup that is stressing it. Whatever you end up driving at the track, you'll always be welcome in the MINI paddock.

Despite the cool track temps during the first session, I thought it was a great way to end the season, with four MINI's on track, plus the two MINI observers. I think yesterday was the first track day that I've attended where there were no black flags due to accidents during any of the sessions.

Great seeing everybody!

Sorry to hear about the problems Slinger - CV and boot or just the boot? Same boot I understand that the JCW is lowered slightly from the stock S. Not hearing anything about them having this problem. So however much lower are you from stock?

Looks like a bit too much.

The boot is split on the top. Same wheel. I am thinking it is the coil causing it. Am thinking about going to the JCW suspension, ar at least the springs and perhaps Koni Yellows.

I have thought about going to the JCW springs but have not been able to determine if there are 2 different set-ups or is there just one? There are plenty on NAM for sale.

The JCW springs are not the ones off the standard factory JCW car as those are the same as the ones on the MCS. You have to buy them seperately as a package called the JCW suspension (not the sport suspension). It gives you about a 3/4 inch drop, more than enough for me. Put some fixed camber plates and you can probably get -1.6 degrees or so. I am thinking of going a little more camber with adjustable plates.

Looks like SCDA has one more track day this season at Monticello this Saturday. This time it is 3.5 hours of track time.

Too bad I cannot go be because of my CV joint/boot issues.

It's actually an event run by MMC themselves and they asked SCDA to help put the word out. Awesome deal for $250!!! Only two run groups....

I'll be in NH....

Where are you VV??? This has your name all over it.

What is MMC doing? First they tell us we are not wanted any more and then they put on their own deal Beside, the weather may be iffy.

Looks like MMC is trying to squeeze out a few more $$ as the season winds down. I have a feeling they will offer a few track dates to non-members next season. I would've done this event if temps were in the R-comp range.

I'd really love to run at Monticello, didn't have the chance this season.

Fun track. Lots of turns - hard on brakes and tires - fast then slow

Most every other club has got their schedule out so I don't know why SCDA is taking so long...

They say it is "coming"

Say, what club would have time at VIR?

Just wanted to check in and say hi ya'll. As I got Oscar back together, I finished up my Harley I had been working on for two years and got my H2 back from CA with a Duramax diesel conversion. (not to mention I bought a Can Am UTV)

I've been trying to dial everything in so I haven't messed with the mini much. Also, I cut up the rear diffuser so I could install another one but in the meantime, I am waiting for yet another diffuser to come from Russia. Point is, I don't like driving any of my vehicles when they are incomplete and with the rear diffuser half assed cut, I haven't been driving it.

I still need to dial in a torque steer problem I have in the mini. When the weather gets warmer, I'll finish it up... I'm so behind in any kind of track events that I have already missed.

Merry Christmas and happy new year to everyone. Hope to get on the track with you guys (veggivet, s-driver, GKP, eddie, APS, the I's, claymore, suss, sherman, porsche bob, my Miata buddies VA et al) next year.

Just too busy at work to prep the car right now. I dream of going back to retirement again. I did meet a guy at work that does 40 track days a year and has close to 400 track days. He convinced me to get the AST suspension.

Let's get the SCDA schedule up ASAP so we can plan for some track days together.
