Slinger's car is at Keeler's for a driver's side CV boot. Even though I was there just for one day, it was definitely worth it. Our classroom instructor taught us lines for the toe and turn 12 that apply to momentum cars only, and that advice really improved my lap times.

Claymore, congrats on being moved up into Intermediate after just one day. Quite impressive. Looking forward to seeing you on the track
again. The invititation still stands for staying over the night before Lime Rock at my house...45 minute drive to the track.

Slinger - yeah, I heard it was the CV joint that let go (not the brake line). You missed some good times on Tuesday, as a lot of people packed up early and we had the track pretty much to ourselves after lunch.

The date I'm looking at for LRP is 10/14

We took the outside line on the Toe on Tuesday (after some initial resistance from our instructors), and it made a HUGE difference. It was like a sling-shot.

A slingshot for Slinger. Perfect! You are very fortunate to have picked up that line on your very first track day. It has taken me two years to feel comfortable in that corner. I'll be at Lime Rock on October 14th as well as the 30th. See you then. In the meantime, practice all those track techniques in your daily driving: eyes way up, smooth inputs, and nailing the apexes on the highway perfectly.

Sorry I missed you gents at WGI. Had a death in the family and had to cancel. I'm too late to get into Monticello in August, so I'll see you in the Fall.

Sorry to hear that news, GKP. There are still spots left for Monticello on July 26th.

Site said Intermediate is filled for 7/26 Monticello. Only space left is for hotshots like you and slinger.

Have you done the NJ tracks? How are they? I'm planning out a few events for Sept/Oct.

Slinger and I will be at the Sept 13/14th event in NJ. Looking forward to it!!

FYI....CART will be at Monticello this Monday, July 19th and I believe spots are still available. They will be using the short South course and also will have a TT and team relay.

I will be there in NJ.

I did NJ with SCDA last year. They run 4 30 minute sessions which is good but one more would be perfect. I like Lightning better than Thunderbolt. The high HP cars seem to prefer Thunderbolt.

Heard from Keeler's. They said the front left CV boot just tore apart. Some damage to the CV joint. They are looking into why it tore off. I hope to get it all sorted out by next weekend. Then I can put in those BBKs.

I think Porsche Bob will be there as well.

GKP, sorry to hear about your family incident. Hope we can see you on the track soon. I heard that driving can be very therapeutic.

Wouldn't run on my Mac. Will try on a 'normal' computer tomorrow. Thanks!

GKP, I haven't done any NJ tracks...yet.

And now it begins: I'm going to take a look at some (used) Enkei RP01's this weekend.

Claymore,

the obsession begins.

You are now changed from caffeine junkie to track addict.

Looking forward to running a few sessions with you at a nearby track soon.

I believe Claymore has been infected with a particularly nasty strain of the track virus. This variety tends to produce more wallet weight loss than others.

I guess it is official, Monticello will not be hosting any more club events starting next year. Got this info from Eddie07 who was there today. Seems the membership wanted to return it to a pivate track.

For those track die hards, you've got three more opportunities on this track. September 17th with PDA, September 24th with Mohawk Hudson SCCA, and October 4th with SCDA. I'll be there for these last two dates. Hope to see some more MINI action there with me.

I may have an in at Monticello at some point in the future. My neighbor knows a Ferrari club instructor and there is some kind of deal where you can pay $400 and get 12 sessions on the track...

We'll see, maybe next year.

Interesting. Given the economy I'd think they'd want some other sources of revenue, but I guess they must be doing OK with the membership scheme.
