NPB 60ft 1.946 ET13.385 MPH104.59

I love that Nitrous

1st pass It run a natually aspirated pass of 14.7 @ 93.7

1st pass with nitrous was at night 20.31 10c and very cold

60ft 2.110
330ft 5.821
1/8 8.798
mph 82.09
1/4 13.524
mph 104.40

2nd pass was this morning 1st round (bracket racing)

60ft 2.211
330ft 5.767
1/8 8.675
mph 85.05
1/4 13.385 (dial in was 13.33)
mph 99.76 (on and off the throttle I won by .0006)

3rd pass with nitrous

60ft 1.946
330ft 5.791
1/8 8.857
mph 82.24
1/4 13.614
mph 104.59

Unfortunatley the clutch was slipping for 2nd and 3rd, which gutted me because in theory it would of run an 13.0 / 12.9s

If you take alll my best increments it goes like this

60ft 1.946
60f-330 3.556
330- 660 2.908
666-1000 2.462
1000-1320 2.223

13.095

Not bad for a stock engine / ecu / ex manifold

at 2500lbs it works out at 231 flywheel hp which would be right in the sense of 160 plus 70 nitrous

Houndog, its a wet system which came off my 78 malibu i.e a cheater kit and then I just purchased a 1x NOS annular discharge fogger nozzle.

On the fuel side we just came off the end and jetted accordingly for 57psi.

Jetting was .040 nos and .020 fuel.

The nozzles nitrous passage is .0595 so theres a bit more left

I'll try and post some pics later in the week.

cool! Great times! I bet that car makes some people at the track think twice

How do you like those tires? Do they grip well enough for the nitrous or are you experiancing alot of wheel spin still? what RPM are you launching at and are your launching on the bottle?

Yeah it certainley does

The problem with any drag radial / street tyre is that they are inconsistant and very track dependable.

At the moment I'm launching at between 4000 to 5000 depending how grippy I think the track is and then trying to activate the nitrous when I think it has hooked.

On all but the last run it had axle tramp in the top end of 1st gear.

I really need to do the following;

a 2 step to make my launch rpm consitant

a switch on the clutch to de-activate the nos on gear change ( because the timing goes back to 49deg)

Maybe some slicks because the track and weather is getting colder
nore nitrous

If you don't mind loosing your horn you can use your horn switch to activate the nitrous. But make sure to use a WOT switch too for an added precaution. That way you can "flat shift" throught the gears and just let off the NO2 between shifts.

How many miles/launches does your clutch have on it? I was barely having problems at my current HP level.

Its on its 18th pass and about 4000 miles, the clutch might be ok but I dont want to waste next weekend if it isn't if you see what I mean so I'm upgrading the clutch and flywheel just to be safe.

What bottle pressure do other nitrous users run on here either at the strip or on the street

Paul,
Cool and congrats. I used to race a blown 94 Mustang GT in street trim here in Alb, NM at 5600' and really miss it. I've been looking into getting the M7 kit for my 05 JCS MCS and surprising some of the street guys!

I have been using around 1200 psi bottle pressure. I would run around 9 or 10 but I was a little rich and decided to up the bottle pressure.

Houndog, where else could you gain that sort of increase in et / mph?? if you do it right you'll be able to take it all out for any service / warranty work

Spillman, thats serious bottle pressure do you think this might be why the ringland went away??

Most piston damage is caused at the start of the run because usually bottle pressure decreases between 50-100 on a run and thats with a full bottle.

When you get the piston out see if it has open up around the top ring land rather than being squashed.

Good luck with it, if you not melting you're not trying
