Ran my stock 05 at cecil county this evening

There was a lot of cleanup taking up alot of track time. I only got 2 runs in. I am completely stock except for a recently installed borla sport exhaust. My best of the 2 :

60' ...2.343
330...6.516
1/8 ...9.931
MPH 72.89
1000.12.837
1/4...15.305
MPH 91.57

Tires are bfg kdw 2's 22psi

I can do better....

I presume this is a Manual MCS right? I thought I heard there was no need to lower the tire pressure on street tires? Will only slow you down. Err.... that's assuming those BFG's are street? Or are those not?

Yes it is a manual mcs. Tire pressure doesnt make much difference on runflats but from previous experience lower tire pressure has always helped on high performance summer tires.

The track was pretty sticky. I could have launched alot harder than I did but it was over an hour between runs. The r/t doesnt matter in the grudge racing I attend so i wasnt really worrying about the green light. However I had a .667

Congrats on the time its nice to see that you're running it in properly. Its so hard to know at what rpm to leave at because of track conditions espically when you're queing for an 1hour.

What were you launching at??

Around 3500 rpm at launch. There was pretty limited wheel slip. I have the lsd in my 05. I slipped a bit in 2nd. One of my biggest problems is needing to go to 4th gear just before the finish.

You're doing the 1/4 in 15.3. Makes me wonder why the Madness car did it in 15.7 sec with Car & Driver

The 15.7 posted by the 2002 c&d cooper also had a trap speed of 97mph which is good enough to go well into the 14's. I also read that car had about 245 hp which on a 2500 lb car should be good for 13's.

Next time try short shifting first at about 6000 and 3rd at 6300. Should help with 2nd gear wheel slippage and you will be powering thru the finish. My best so far has been a 15.104 at 92.88.

Is the time you told me of a near stock 05? Or is it a earlier model with mods.

It's the car and mods in my sig. When it was stock 15.8 was the best,15% pulley 15.399 and now 15.104. Your gearing on the 05 and lsd does help. The tuffest part with the mini is getting the power to the ground.

I was always led to believe that you shift at 500rpm above the peak hp made i.e 6500 would be 7000.

We've been launching between 4000-5000 with a quaife diff and drag radials on a track which has sometimes held a 5000 launch needless to say after 18 passes and 4400 miles the clutch plate has burnt

You would defintley be in the high 14s low 15.0s I wonder if they would replace it under warranty I know of one bloke over here had a clutch replaced after 15000 and few goes down the 1/4

its defintley not nice having to shift into 4th just before the line but I found that the nitrous cured that now I go over at 7000 in 4th
