OK, so I was so excited to get OGs sauce the other day that I went out at 0-dark-thirty the night it came and applied it to a few areas of my husbands beater truck. It'd be hard to find a better tester, it's lived full-time in the AZ sun for the past 12 years, and is his beater work truck driven mainly in dirt construction yards.

BW went on real easy - used a sponge applicator for the bumper and one of those disposable foam paint brushes for the bits near the wipers. As noted earlier when I put BW on the bumper I could hear static so after app I ran a damp paper towel over it to dispel the static (and dust, I hoped!).

He went to the dusty construction yard yesterday, drove 40 mi to another dusty yard, then back. The pics were taken at night so they're not great, but here's what I have so far...

No problems with dust attraction!
wiped area with BW & NO BW -

one wiper and part of the fins done

After BW

I love this stuff! I was more excited to get the BW shipment than I was to get the diamond bracelet I recently won, and have officially been deemed "sick" by hubby.

No! Only on the black bumper beneath the chrome. Just wiped the chrome off with a damp cloth.

hey OctaneGuy... (or others)

i just noticed on the base that holds the antenna there are some white streaks... probably some sloppy Epic application on my part, although that was A LONG time ago. Anyway, I'm assuming I can use BW on that? It's plastic I think.

Definitely you can use it there. =) it works well on rubber too. Had a customer with a Dodge Magnum, for some reason there is a common problem with the rubber trim around the windows turning white. Costs $75 to replace. Tried some BW and a month later still looked great. There are pictures on my SCD site.

Hmmmm..... Rubber.....

How about slightly worn MINI rubber floor mats? Mine on the driver's side has worn enough now (after 12K miles) that it has a permanent gray area in the middle... not dirty, just has the smooth surface worn off... I wash them and treat with 303, and the non-worn areas look great, but the worn spot is still grayish. Anyone tried BW on rubber mats yet?

I've got rubber mats too but I've always used Hyperdressing from Meguiars out of fear of having slippery mats. Not sure if BW would make the mat slick and potentially transfer to your shoes and cause problems safely operating the pedals. If you do try it, I would apply it, then wipe it down with a wet towel or wash them to ensure no residue is left that might transfer to your shoes.

I applied BW to Flo's trim this morning. It's pretty amazing. I used a small piece of left over upholstery foam (from a pillow project) to apply. Works great and cheaper than using commercial applicator pads. I didn't have problems with the static, but I was sparing with the sauce. I think I used only about eight drops. Let it sit for about 30 minutes, then wiped it down with a soft cotton cloth. Very nice satin finish. I like it.

thanks!

btw, I was doing a little wipe down in the engine compartment today. I was spritzing some Nero on a towl and wiping the plastic, but I was wondering if BW could be used in the engine compartment? Most of the plastic there still looks fine, but I was curious if it started to look worn if BW could be used safely on those parts.

I've seen people use my BW at my Saturday classes on the engine bay and they loved it. I personally haven't done any significant testing on how long this will last, but it should be safe. Until I do my own testing, I'm not exactly recommending BW for this use though.

The main issue of any product used in the engine bay is knowing it's flash point to ensure that it won't contribute towards any fires caused by the heating of the engine. This is true for any product and one reason why I've always loved Meguiar's Hyperdressing in the engine bay.

i washed my MCS today and gave BW a shot. so far so good. it applies
pretty evenly. i used that small shoe polish foam pad and it worked out
great. i only used a tiny dab (like 1/4 a pea size) and spread it out.

even though i put a very small amount i saw some areas glossier than
other so used some paper towel to wipe off. i think i built-up static....

will let it dry a little more and go over it at the end with my QD and
MF detailing towel to remove static in a few hours.

I QDed Clara today since I can't wash :( but I used BW on the trim - very awesome. My trim is actually in really good shape because I'm pretty religious with the Wizards, but it took a couple of spots where I'd grazed the trim with Epic in the past and got the white right out.

I used BW on the CR-V last night before putting on Epic. That vehicle has more vinyl than a floor store. The BW went on pretty greasy and spread out evenly. Like Ken there were places that were really glossy - usually the place were the first application started after reloading the foam applicator. I went around the entire car spreading out for complete coverage. I then went around again with a dry foam applicator. This morning I wipe any remaining excess with a paper towel. Pollen is really bad right now and there was scads of pollen dust on the trim this morning, but it wiped right off. Also a few Epic spots on the trim that I didn't see last night came right off as well.

The trim is now very black and marginally shiny - not too, just right. We'll see how it lasts over the summer. I used only about a quarter inch of the bottle so I very impressed with the coverage. Smells good as well.

OG - what would happen if you used a microfiber to wipe off the excess? Would you trash the MF or would it wash out?

i went back and QD'ed the arches. i highly recommend it.
i just dunked the MF towel with my other MF towels and in the washing
machine now. i dont think it matters considering you only have just
the very little excess and more-or-less just removing the static.
my MF towel barely turned brown.

looks semi-matte perfectly matching my aero bumper sides.
im happy with it so far.

I just experienced the static thing people are talking about. It doesn't do it on any of the textured trim on anything I've tried, but I just went out to try it on the nasty, faded-grey trim on hubby's 89 Wrangler.

The mirror plastic came out great - it's pebbley textured and it looks like new. The fender trim also came out great, but it is very smooth and untextured, and as I applied it and as I removed the excess, I could hear static crackling like mad. I'll probably go QD it tomorrow to see if that fixes it, but I hadn't experienced the static until I used it on the smoother surface.

you can also neutralize the static using your calduster too.

I was about to add this very thing. After driving today, I noticed that a little pollen/dust settled on the BW-treated trim. I used my California Duster to brush it off. Will see how things go this week.

It should wash out just fine. This whole talk of static is interestng to me. I never experienced it in all the months of testing in California, in Nevada at AMVIV, nor the 3 days that I was at the Dragon demoing BW. So I will see what I can do to replicate this.

Can anyone give me an idea of what the temperature and humidity are like when you experience this static?? Like I said above, it's interesting to hear reports of "static crackling like mad".

This is happening when? Only during the time of wiping off the excess? Is it happening during application?

What applicator are you using to apply BW?

Thanks
