OctaneGuy's Plastic Trim Sauce--almost there!
OK - now I'm REALLY liking the stuff.
First applied it a week ago after my post-MOTD wash. Even though I used it VERY sparingly (maybe 1/4" out of the bottle for the whole application), it was still pretty "wet and sticky" - even after wiping down with paper towels AND cheap microfibers.
Being "wet and sticky" it picked up a LOT of dust this week just driving around. I'd wipe it down, but the dust would come back.
Today (7 days and about 700 miles later) I washed again with Mystique. I used my soft wheel brush (like the one OG uses) on my trim - just one quick pass with the brush with Mystique. Then rinse and towel dry. No new dressing of any kind.
The trim looks FANTASTIC. Better than it EVER has before. A beautiful, deep black satin finish - not slick and shiny but not completely matte, either. And doesn't feel at all tacky, so I'm hopeful that the dust attraction is gone. I'll give a two-week review after another week...

While it's hard to define "sparingly", as it uses a lot less product than most on the market for each application, if it looks shiny or is at all sticky after application, a paper towel should be used until it's nearly matte looking.
As you've found, after your first wash, the trim will look better after it's had some time to set. I like to think of it like lotion. Your skin can only accept so much lotion. Once you've exceeded that amount, it just ends up being excess that needs to be wiped off, or transferred to another location, otherwise it just sits on top of your skin.
The same is for the trim. For each arch, you should be able to get away with one or two pea sized amounts. For the side skirts, a dime sized or nickel sized amount should be plenty. Future applications will need much less product, and if you devote your applicator pad to just BW, then you can further transfer the BW on that pad for future applications, again minimizing the amount you need each time.
Spritzing water or just washing your MINI will allow you to see the protection on the trim. The water will bead very clearly.
I find that my whole Jet Black MINI is a dust magnet. Because I work alongside a major freeway, the dust that settles on my MINI a few minutes after washing is significant. When I washed my MINI on Saturday, the trim just needed a quick blast of water to remove the dust--much like when you blast the wheels of brake dust.
One of my test cars is an old Suzuki that sits parked outside along the freeway day in and day out. I put some BW on it before I went to the Dragon, and nearly 2 weeks later, evaluated the results. I washed only the trim with a bug sprayer filled with water, and the dust came right off, as opposed to the side that didn't have BW which even after rubbing with a towel, still looked dirty and the trim was faded.

So about 2 weeks have passed, I decide to go outside and see how it's doing. I use a bug sprayer with water to spray it down.

Look how the water beads! The protection is still there.

Compare it to the other side without BW.

Definitely better!

I look forward to your next review!
Richard

Richard, you officially have a winner here.
I'll be taking photos tonight and blogging about it soon.
That "third day of rain" that I was hoping for a week ago turned into an hour while my car was in a garage.
I did my long PC polish, detail, wax on sautrday (which involves washing the car twice!).
And of course, murphy's law gave me a two-hour highway drive in pouring rain saturday night!
So after a day of drying (In disgust I didn't even want to look at the car), after all of that (and the previous two days of rain), the blackwow is still there! Holy $#!+!! Absolutely NO other treatment product even comes close.
I'm very anxiously awaiting the whole bottle, because my trim looks pretty bad right now (I was rushing and waxed without taping, so that didn't help either) and that sample bottle is not going to cover everything.
Please let me know where you would like me to suggest people purchase it!

Hey, I'm famous!!! (and ugly
)I love the product, by the way. My trim still looks great from that one application at the dragon!
How careful do you have to be about not getting it on the paint? The pictures look like you'd really want to get it completely on all of the black including all the way up to the paint since it appears to be such a dramatic (in a very good way) change to the color of the plastic.
I used the applicator to get as little on the paint as possible while completely covering the trim. Then I went back around with a microfiber cloth and wiped off any that got onto the paint. No problems and can't see any residue.
Of course by the time I got home to take photos, it was GONE. Either my memory is stumping me and I didn't actually see it still there afte the rainy drive, or it is waiting for some warmer dry weather to appear again Just my luck after writing such a glowing review. I might have to do it all again.
Mine still looks great even today with one application.
There were spots that I 'missed' the first time, I touched them up and cannot tell the difference between the touchups and the original application.

I plan on ordering some when I get to Guam (FPO shipping). I saw it in action at motd, and that stuff is great.

If I remember correctly, thats Aero space 303 on the back end of the arch, and Black WoW on the front.

This week is shipping week for me. Yesterday I got all orders up to April 30 processed and ready for shipping today.
I'm working on May right now--don't worry Teresa, there are only like 40 orders ahead of you. I'll get to you.

hmm....
I walked up and bought a bottle at the Dragon. Maybe I have yours?
It really is great stuff. You should try it sometime.

TulsaMINI and MCBrendan's BW are being shipped today, so you will have them in a few days. Ords, the other contest winner already picked his bottle up at the Dragon.
I'm working as fast as I can.

WoW, I estimate pretty good based on gut feeling. I just counted the orders and there are 39 orders ahead of you.
Now stop bothering me so I can get back to work!

Ok had to answer this one between order fullfilling.... Yeah I was worried about this too until I realized that if every Honda Element owner, and every Jeep Owner, and every Toyota Tacoma owner just bought one bottle, and countless other truck owners, I could potentially keep selling to new owners for quite awhile before the first buyers start to come back for more.
I agree with the comment about the Wow being "sticky" and attracting dust... The trim looks FANTASTIC right after the product is applied, but even a short, two-mile trip on clear roads results in a noticible build-up of dust/dirt/something grimy right near the wheels and on the sides under the door - looks like it used to after I drove in the rain when using a less glossy product like, say, Nero.
Richard - any ideas on what might happen if we used Wow to get the trim to a "wet black" appearance and then applied something less "sticky" like Wizard's Black Renew or Nero atop it after it "dries out" a bit? I love the look of the Wow, but the dust issue is a bit disconcerting. Or was the purpose of Wow to make the trim look "show car wet" when my car sits at car shows? Nothing wrong with that if that's the case but I'm using the Wow on a daily driver on actual roads.
