imagox- does the dust attraction appear to have anything with
how much you applied, or just attracts dust in general like Back To Black?
my griot's rubber and vinyl on there right now does not attract dust
at all...and its a semi-matte finish. i reapply every now and then but
even after app, does not attract dust.

"show car wet???" This would be true under the following circumstances.
1.) You've applied too much product
2.) You haven't wiped off the excess with a paper towel. The trim should be dry to the touch when applied properly--not shiny and wet.
Black WoW is a different kind of product. It's been designed for restoring the black trim, for removing wax/polish, and for maintaining that look for a long time--longer than other products. Will it last forever? Of course not, but does it do a better job than other products on the market, definitely.
Maintenance of the trim is as simple as wiping the trim down with a wet cloth, or washing the car. You won't have to reapply product.
If your trim is attracting that much dust, then take a towel or paper towel, and wipe it dry. Once you've done that, any dust attraction shouldn't be any more than the attraction your paint attracts. Atleast that's been my experience with Jet Black which shows every spec of dust.

I agree with the comment about the Wow being "sticky" and attracting dust... The trim looks FANTASTIC right after the product is applied, but even a short, two-mile trip on clear roads results in a noticible build-up of dust/dirt/something grimy right near the wheels and on the sides under the door - looks like it used to after I drove in the rain when using a less glossy product like, say, Nero.
Richard - any ideas on what might happen if we used Wow to get the trim to a "wet black" appearance and then applied something less "sticky" like Wizard's Black Renew or Nero atop it after it "dries out" a bit? I love the look of the Wow, but the dust issue is a bit disconcerting. Or was the purpose of Wow to make the trim look "show car wet" when my car sits at car shows? Nothing wrong with that if that's the case but I'm using the Wow on a daily driver on actual roads.

My "dust magnet" issues went away after the first week of dusting and then a wash with Mystique - it's not picking up dust at all now (that I can tell) but it looks fantastic.
I REALLY DID apply it "sparingly" in quantities similar to what OG describes with a Meguires foam applicator, and REALLY DID wipe it WELL with paper towels and then with microfiber. But it still attracted dust like ImagoX's. But now it is WONDERFUL and I didn't apply anything on top. Just let it get really dusty and then wash it.

Bottom line though - if the proper application calls for 3X the ammount or rubbing to evenly spread out the product, followed by a paper-towel session to remove excess, then that's a lot of extra work compared to my Nero experiences for example (with that I just spritz it on, wait 20 seconds and wipe off). That's what made me wonder if the Wow is truly a "restorative" product that's intended for a specific use - namely getting faded vinyl back to black - rather than a thing you'd use after every second or third wash... Maybe I'm just usuing it for the wrong thing? Or maybe I should be using something like the Nero in-between Wow applications? Sounds like you expect the Wow to last through multiple washings, and mine is only lasting like 3 or 4 tops, maybe because I'm using it too sparingly..

I'd like to know where anyone said you need 3x the amount of rubbing?? Just apply the product evenly, wipe off any excess. Enjoy the look, next time you wash your car, wipe the trim with a sponge, and dry.
I think for those that saw my demos at the Dragon, application was hardly anything like you're describing.
How much product is required is dependent on the condition of your trim. Think of it like quenching your thirst. You need to apply enough on the trim so that the product actually goes into the plastic, but any that's left on top needs to be wiped away because it won't serve any purpose than to collect dust. Each time you apply the product--should be weeks apart if not months, you will require less product.
To me the issues sound more like an application issue.

*I* said it calls for 3X the time based on my experience... I wasn't quoting anyone. Maybe I'm spoiled by the ease of the Nero or something...
I'm finding that if I don't really rub the product in well that it looks uneven the next day in the sun. Maybe I'm using too little - I've certainly never used a "nickle-sized spot" (see post #155) on the Meguiar's foam pad you sold me - usually I only need about a third that ammout. I can stretch out that pea-blob to do an entire wheel arch from the bumper to the first few inches of door trim, or for the entire door-sill peice, inside and out. I thought that was how much you were supposed to use after talking to you, but I might have misunderstood. You quote to use "two pea-sized dots" (again #155) for the wheel arch and lots more than I use for the sills ("nickle or dime-sized dot should be plenty")...
Of course, people using more had to use paper towels to soak up the excess, and I never had to do THAT and I still have very sticky dust. I'm reasonably sure that it's an application issue - question is: what am I doing wrong? I'm not dissing the Wow - I'm actually liking it - but I wonder if blending it with Nero or something else might fit in better with the way I wash and maintain my trim? I hesitate to mix chemicals though...

I think some people are mistaking this stuff for regular plastic dressing.
From what I understand, Black WOW is more of a trim restorer, right? It prevents you from having to dress the trim as often.

maybe people are rubbing so much after the BW app that it generates
new static.

if i was to do it, i would use my Griot's blue round foam pad and use
only a dot at a time and spread like a poorman's jelly sandwich
in a counter-clockwise circular motion. lol

I'm usuing a circular motion (seems to help even it out) on a foam Meguiar's pad, but I'll probably shift to one of DP's applicators soon (love those things).

Does your trim look like this after your first wash??? (Matte and dark)-because if it does, then there shouldn't be any reason it would be collecting any dust.

Ordered 10 days ago and waiting, and waiting, and.............Don't you just hate supply and demand!
does this stuff get cone marks off of the black trim? My wife's mini has some cone marks on the bottom paret of her bumper that I haven't been able to get off, if anyone has any experience with this, I'd love to know, that would be enough to convince me to order some
So I am all about supporting the small business.
Not at all. I ran a small business for years that did really well, until one day the big guys took notice and thought I was doing too well and they gave away everything I offered for free until I had no customers left. Seven years of my life and my life savings gone. I learned a very important lesson. If you cannot patent it, then dunt(tm) even think about starting a business yourself.

I like supporting the small business person also. That's why I ordered the DVD and sauce from NAM. Trying to support NAM and OG both. Both of them are invaluable resources to the MINI nut. Placing an order with DP also, their info is really helpful to me.
