I'm hoping to be ready to post a few pics soon. I have had a debacle with the paint in that I have had to go back to the paint store for the third trip today!!! I have gone through 2 gallons of "Gustavian Grey" which is what I'm using for the top 3/4 of the walls, the lower portion will be a darker color (surprise!) that I will reveal when all is done LOL. Needless to say I ran out of warm weather and am heating the garage with little space heaters trying to get it warm enough to finish the job!!!
My Storewall is here as well as my heavylift hoists. My cabinets (I only have a few, no big deal) are on backorder for another 10days grrrr.
I am really psyched about my final color choices and hope it looks as good as I'm imagining it will .
Meanwhile I'm playing with my new vac-n-blo vacuum and have cleaned my house from top to bottom in frustration of not being able to hang it up in the garage yet.

Sorry to hear your paint project is turning out to be like any automotive project I tackle.

Thats part of the reason my Jeep is Flat Bed rated

Don't feel bad I was suppose to have pictures weeks ago but started a couple new projects before finishing the garage. My garage is full of sheetrock and wood for my new projects. I can't even park in my garage :(

Let's see who can guess the color of the lower portion of Annette's garage walls. My guess: British Racing Green.

I'm sure it has to be a MINI color, given her passion for our beloved little cars.

Must have been when the Bears won. Don't celebrate just yet Kenchan, there's still the Superbowl.
I think I got that same Husky ladder a couple of weeks ago. Pretty stable and seems real strong.

if the bears win i think there's going to be more than just a
mallet flying around. hahaha.

cool, it looked high quality for a $35 platform, so looking forward to
using it this spring. will make polishing much easier to do than
trying to balance myself on the door sills and edge of seats.

no, it's one of these 4 bar looking ones but they are connected together.
the one i use for detailing is 6500k. so very bright to illuminate the lower
part of the car.

Ok, I'm going to go ahead a post some pics of my garage re-do thus far. I really wanted to wait and do an "unveiling" when all was said and done but I'm not expecting my cabinets to arrive for another 10-14 days so I'm posting where it stands as of tonight.
First, CR&PW, was right, give the man a cigar!!
The bottom 3ft of the garage is British Racing Green. It is actually a color by Ralph Lauren Paints called British Racing Green, so of course my decision was made! DH loved the color so it was all good .
So here goes.
Here's a pic from before everything got started

Here are a couple of pics after the floor was done but before the paint and Storewall.

A view of the door, the unpainted 2x6's have bugged me ever since we moved in, grrrr

Here's how it looks tonight, note the Griots towel dispenser and new compressor right below it.

The front wall now, the blank area to the left of the Jumbo Vac n Blo is where the workbench and storage cabinet will be.

Another pic showing more Storewall,

I also switched the light fixtures from T12s to T8s, what a huge difference. I also added a hanging shop light from the center beam.
I still have to add the 2 overhead hoist storage systems, hopefully I'll have that done by this weekend.

I'm debating adding a checkerboard or black stripe at the top of the BRG paint, what do y'all think?

More later,
Annette

Very nice. It is really coming together well. I really like the black trim at the floor/wall joint - nice touch. IMO I don't think the typical B&W checker would look too good, but it might be worth a try to see. I'm not all that good a visualizing, I generally need to do small sections to see the effect.
Again very nice.

A beautiful and functional work of art -- thanks for inspiring us all.

If you think it looks good, I vote for the checker pattern.

Thanks all!
The black baseboard is the vinyl type like you see in schools, very durable (I hope). I was dreading putting it on, adhesive, getting it straight....Anyway it ended up being pretty easy and really looks much better than the old stuff. I still have about 40ft left so will do the side room when I finish that space.

Lowes now sells wallpaper stuff for kids rooms that is removable, I might do a strip of it in black and put the checkerboard tape on top of it, then I can pull it off if it is too much.

mr edly, thanks! I'm so bummed about Buckwheat, what will you do now??

Annette
