here it is. the replenish bottle on the right is mityvac,
the left is griot's i suppose the griot's one would work, but
you can't really adjust the dept of where the 'max' point is.

on the mityvac, you can adjust perfectly to the max line.

so, it's frikken freezing here in 25F temps and i am ready to pull out
my MCS.

yesterday coming home from the airport, it was about 32F, flurries
and the ramps and bridges were not salted yet. there were some super
slick areas... while i and most of the folks slowed down, some guy just
didn't get it...he slipped off the ramp and dove into the cornfield.
im sure he's fine, but im also sure he was stuck in there good. then a
bonehead in a trans-am also bit it as his FAILed pos car spun out of
control into the railing at low speeds. idiots. they couldve caused a
major accident.

slow down out there. you only get one chance before you wreck your
car and other's cars.
We Test Drove a MINI in 6" of snow, last February...she handled Beautifully. I was not about to see what she could do in those conditions, but I was very impressed on how she handled. The SA even said, "Thank you for being such a skilled Driver!!"

Blimey,
Did you ever get your Craven mount for the GPS in? I'd love to see pics if you did.
Thanks

when is your car going to be back? is your dealer going to do the
aerobumper or do you need to take it to a bodyshop afterwards?

No dealer.... I have an independent MINI mechanic here (Grassroots Garage) - that's who will do the repairs. He doesn't do paint and body, but I think he has a paint guy he uses.

No ETA yet... hope to get an idea tomorrow....

Yep... that's what that means... though the second bleed per caliper is quick (just need to flush the piston on that side; the line will already have fresh fluid in it).

ahhh, good to hear you got a non-dealer mechanic. my MINI
dealer has its own bodyshop so they did the aerokit on mine.

yah, 8x flush...dang. my G's out of its carcover right now waiting
for me to finish supper. im going to flush it tonight and take her
out of a short test drive. buddies tell me to do the inner
valve first, then outer. werd, but the service manual wants me
to do it RR, LF, LR, RF. must be the length of the piping or something...

Got off work early, washed both MINIs, mid 50's and sunny, nice. Had a few white spots on the trim, so got out the Black Wow. Thank goodness I keep it and the applicator in a zip-lock, as the lid was open on the bottle. At least the foam applicator soaked it all up, but now I have months of BW loaded on the pad

I was checking the new Stainless steel brake lines for any leaks, there were non, but I noticed Poco's muffler seemed kind of loose, well the mount has rusted right of the top of the muffler Wired it up so it won't break, but now I need a new exhaust.

Geez, Paul runs over a stationary box and gets a Aero bumper out of it.

Mark sprays his exhaust bracket with acid twice a week for six months (just confess) and now he's getting a new exhaust system. (and Mark, I highly recommend the Megan cat-back)

Hmmmmmmmmm... I sure would like some new stuff for my MINIs. Wonder what I can break.

got the G's brembo's bled. my mityvac replenish bottle+Griot's
brake extractor combo works great.

this is the easiest brake bleeding ive ever done.
the brake fluid wasn't horribly dirty but it was time to change it.

then ended up taking a pretty long drive since it's so nice out.
38F, dry, and very calm.

QD'ed the car, cooled it down abit, checked the fluid again (perfect),
and covered the car. she's hibernating again.

can't wait to try it on my MCS next summer.

I hear if you drop a boulder on it you get a free Lambo. I'd try it but I don't have any boulders around.

tu13- from my experience dont wash your car unless its over 28F even if it's dirty. just keep it outside, keep it frozen.

23F it will just freeze and also cause temp shock to the seals.
of course if you have a garage with a drain, yummmmm...

Sounds good. It's going to get just above freezing today, so maybe.

My garage actually does have a drain...hmm...

Do you have a laundry sink in there? Or another source of hot water? Because a garage wash with warm water in the hose and bucket is a WONDERFUL thing...

yah, unless it's really salted i'd just wash the car inside the garage.

ofcourse in my case, that's not possible as my G's sleeping and
MCS is sitting pretty...my garage (due to the damn village poeple) no drain!

Nope, no water sources in the garage. I could maybe run a hose from the kitchen sink, maybe. The drain is really just a 8" hole that goes a few feet into the ground in the middle of the garage.

Should I be worried about the touchless wash hurting my car? Or is it more a matter of it costs money and might not do a good job?

Ultra Wash $1200 Underbody
Presoak
Wash
Wax
Clear Coat
Spot Free Rinse
Dryer
Super Wash $1000 Underbody
Presoak
Wash
Spot Free Rinse
Dryer
Regular Wash $900 Presoak
Wash
Spot Free Rinse
Dryer
Economy Wash $700 Presoak

Spot Free Rinse

What are your thoughts from the above options? This is from the site of the carwash which was recommended by a few locals.

I'm thinking the Ultra wash is a nono. I have no idea what "wax" and "clear coat" really is. Not sure on the rest though.

A $700 Economy wash?
I'd skip a few washes a buy a new car instead.
Actually I'll be interested in what others have to say about the brushless washes.
