DCMM Namless Fun Run - THIS SATURDAY - March 26 9:30 am

Come out and drive!

Vince and Bea have planned a nice route through Virginia, staring in Manassas and ending at Front Royal. Along the way we re-visit some of our favorite roads and meet some new ones.

Route sheets will be provided. We intend this run to be casual and fun. Translation - there are two places where the group could get broken up!

Details:

Meet: Parking lot in front of Border's Books, Parkridge Shopping Center, in Manassas VA. They are located here: http://www.bordersstores.com/stores/...sp?storeID=289
Time: Meet at 9:45 am. Borders will be open at 10:00 am and they have a cafe and restrooms.
Departure time: 10:15 am.
Ending Point: The last road we travel on will be Route 66 East. Folks are welcome to break off then and continue toward home. However, for those interested we will exit 66 East to go to lunch.
Lunch: we'll stop for lunch here at the Apple House, just off 66 East

The Apple House
4675 John Marshall Highway
Linden, VA

(540)636-6329
(800)462-1867

The restaurant has good food, very casual, order at a counter/pay and they bring to the table. They have breakfast all day and some good BBQ and other options for lunch plates.

We should be to lunch no later than 12:30 pm.

Rest Stop: is planned for about an hour into the drive at Sunnyside Farms Famous Rest Stop. They are located here: http://www.sunnysidefarms.com/organic/rest.htm
These are possibly the most entertaining bathrooms you will ever have occasion to be in!

Fee: No fees for DCMM members. $2.00 per car for non-DCMM members to offset insurance costs. We'll collect it at the start of the event.
RSVP: Anytime before Friday at 6:00 pm, which is the last time I will check the e mail before Saturday morning! events@dcmetrominis.org

See you there!

What are the realistic chances you will leave at 10:15 straight up??? I've got a David class in Chantily at 9:45am -- I want to go....but I don't see any way to get to Border's before 10:45am --earliest.

I know Michael will go with or without me. Perhaps, I'll meet the crew at the Apple House for lunch?

Hugs,
PB

I'll try to show up. My car only has 200 miles so promise me to keep the pace slow.

Hmm... If I help organize another trip out there, I'll keep those roads in mind!

No one is ever pushed on these to go at a fast pace if you don't want to. You'll be fine. Please come.

I heard a rumor and I see by your signature that there may be anothter MINI in your lives, is this true? What is it and who gets to drive? Does little David approve?

Ok, back on topic

That would not be a rumor at all. David saw the new MINI this morning and promptly screamed at it. I think he was upset that heis seat wasn't in it yet.

I believe that Michael will be appearing with the NEW baby this Saturday. Please hold all comments about the car until *I* arrive for lunch. I'm sick that I won't be able to unveil the new car with Michael.

Hugs,
PB

Deb and I will be there Saturday. We're looking forward to a great time. This will be our first MINI event since picking up our 2005 MCS in January. (BTW, we mailed our first DC Metro Minis membership check today.) Deb and Lew

willimini,

Glad that you decided to come. Hopefully the weather will be felicitous. Bea and I will be there regardless and a few showers should not really dampen spirits.

Have fun guys (and gals)! Myself and a couple other MINI owners will be helping Deb (aka NekoWoman) move her big screen TV up 3 flights of stairs into her apartment . Just found out my grandfather who was moved into a nursing home here in Richmond last weekend past away yesterday so my parents are coming up.

Mike, my warmest regards to your family for the loss of your grandfather.

Glad to her that Deb has found a home. Please have her give me a call sometime!

Paul's and my condolences, Mike.

Deb found a place to live? Great! Where? How's the job situation?

This is how much I love you guys...I'm driving 2 hours just to have lunch with y'all, then 2 hours home again.

Of course, the alternative is trying to remove construction mud from my house.

No brainer, right?

Edit: My wonderful spouse just put my summer tires back on! Yet more reason for a drive.

Bea and I want to thank those that could make it to today's run. The weather cooperated and everyone returned safely.

There was a new 05 S there, but we did not spend a bunch of time outdoors today looking with the dampness in the air. Next time.

Jim and Suzie=== we waited till 1030 and then departed. Surely hope you were not enroute.

Vince
