I tagged a black/white Cooper S last night. It was parked on Belmont, between 18th and Columbia. It had VA plates and a sticker from MINIs on a Ferry and the GWR event from last year. Maybe a visitor from Southern VA?

 

I got a wave from a Laser blue Clubman S today on 197 !



then in the space of 10 minutes saw a Laser blue R56 S with stripes like MellowYellows and a silver/black Coop (No waves from them)

got a very enthusiastic wave from a fellow laser blue on the way home from the picnic. i saw her merging on and gave her a wave when she was behind me. she was all smiles, and a good looker to boot.

I got a wave yesterday from an all black Cooper. The funny part, I wasn't in Cricket, I was walking to the bus! He must've noticed me staring at the car.

Strange about spotting though. In 10 minutes from Finksburg to Westminster spotted 3 Minis, plus another 2 in parking lots. Spent today heading thru downtown Baltimore, Towson and Hunt Valley and didn't see one. Go figure.

 

They dont' sell the R56 convertible yet do they? Or did you spot one of the pre production testers out and about!!!

 

I saw a red/silver Clubman in Capitol Hill (Northbound on 6th, near Pennsylvania). You didn't see me, I was behind a truck, but I saw you turn. Marina - was it you?

 

I think so .... I saw the white mirrors of a MINI behind a white truck but the MINI turned on or before Constitution Ave.

There is Blue/Sliver Clubman with roof rack on the 300 block of 14th or 15th Street NE - Anyone from NAM ??

 

Got a wave from a nice young lady in a PW/B MC with black bonnies on Powder Mill this AM, nice thing was she waved first

 

Yesterday was funny. Saw about 6 different Mini's at different times. At about 7:15am or so, I was approaching the Woody Wilson bridge (going to MD) when I waved at an R56-PW/BLK (with black bonnet's), but didn't get a wave back. While I was on the bridge, I saw a CR/W 40th anniversary edition. I changed to the center lane, and there was a nice wave exchange..., but the funniest thing is that for about 10-15 seconds on the bridge there were 3 Mini's lined across. That's the second time I've had that happen (and I tried to make it happen). Too funny.
In the afternoon, I was getting on 495 from Rt50 and basically either followed or led a R53 BLK/BLK JCW until the 270 split in Bethesda. Nice car, but the lady driver spent way too much time holding the phone while driving. Bad girl - no Bluetooth and no wave.

 

Saw a CR in Prince Frederick today, Waved, not sure if you saw me wave, but Got a wave/wave back any way!

Wondered if that was the same one that I saw on Crystal Drive in Crystal City this afternoon at 3 pm, when I pulled up next to her at a light and waved--she responded right away as if she was familiar with the Wave... I know it was PW, but can't be 100% sure it was black roof....didn't get a good look at its bonnet though.

Anyway, a wave is a wave.

 

Bought my MCS (DS/B w/ black bonnet stripes, black rims polished lip, California tags) used from a member on this forum a little over a month ago. I was on 395 south around the Pentagon area last weekend when I got my first honk from a Mini, it was a PW that had a bike rack w/ bikes on it, I was on the 2nd lane from the right and they were passing in the left lane, made me smile. Today on my way to work a little before 8 I was on King street/Leesburg pike next to North Hampton st when I see a DS Mini making a left onto the opposite roadway, I proceed to stick my hand out the window just in case they wave when I see the driver (cute blonde) smile and wave, it was my first wave and it made my day. I was in my DS/B MCS w/ black rims. I was starting to lose hope, all the other Mini drivers in my area that I see don't even look over when I drive by looking at them hoping for some acknowledgement.

 

Got 2 waves this morning, one from a blue MCS as I was waiting at the intersection in Glen Echo & another from a PS convertible near American University.

 

Saw a Green MCS speeding past me on 270 south bound last night at 8:15pm..it had just rained and he/she was hauling A**!!! I waved out through the passenger side, then flashed twice..no resonse. I was going 75ish, he/she was going around 85 - 90 on wet surface road. Additional to the speed I was impressed, that the MCS was zipping in and out around slower traffic.
I continue to be impressed with the Clubman S - I am the one that travels 197 frequently to work from Bowie to Univ of Md. If you work there, I am at Res Fac., I see at least one red MCS at FM.
Have NOT seen any fellow MCCS in the area (Bowie/CollegePark/Annapolis), will continue to keep an eye out and give a WAVE BACK!
Car was fixed (Engine Light/High Pressure Fuel Pump) at Mini of Annapolis - 8 days, diagnosis-testing-repair-QA. They even offered to deliver it to me after repair...I didn't elect to get a loaner car, since I could drive my F150.

 

Magoo - look at post 2152 at the top of this page....must be you. I have no idea on the new colors being an R53 owner, lightning blue....laser blue....?????? the Clubby I saw looked very much like the one in the picture. I also see the chap in the red MCS too. But there are two that usually wave, one is CR/W MCS and the other is CR/B MCS (Both R53)

Last week I passed an O2B/W MC with white bon-bons at Powder Mill & Edmonston, looked like she was in a collision Hope that wasn't Jessicasprouse...

 

I got a wave from some guy on Rt 29 yesterday morning in a Royal Grey MCS Maryland tag said MAXICPR....anyone know who that is ?

Saw a great plate on my way to National Airport this morning.... NO2SUVS!!! That plate was on a dark silver (?) MINI on it's way to VA across the American Legion Bridge on 495 at around 7:30ish.

And on my way back up 270N around 8:30 I saw an all black MINI pulled over in the south lanes getting a ticket. Is it hunting season on 270 for MINIs?!

I saw a 1982 Grey Yugo with two tears on driver's seatback, six filter cigarette butts in open ashtray, a crack in the plastic dash, a bubbled tint on rear window and a slightly rusted exhaust tip...other than that, a real beaut!
