Hot Import Nights, 4/19/2008, Chantilly, VA - Anyone Going?

Is anybody thinking about going to the Hot Import Nights Event at the Dulles Expo Center on April 19th?

http://www.hotimportnights.com/events/event.asp?id=682

Please note: I am not trying to condone the objectification of the female body by posting these flyers...

Nope, stock as in totally stock.

I'm just kidding about bringing her car.

Definitely looks and sounds like fun indeed.

BTW, thanks to PGT for letting me know what HIN actually is. I saw the *HIN logos on various Mini's A pillars but had no idea what it was in reference to

Yea, Ive gone the last four years in a row. Ive noticed its getting progressively worse and worse but hey, I'll keep the tradition alive and make an appearance. I used to go and see all the sick cars and hang out with my gearhead friends. Now I go to laugh at the ricers, make fun of the ugly "models", get annoyed by the ridiculously loud ghetto music, and see the same cars over and over again.

okay...yech...gag... Just looking at that flyer...doesn't look like the kind of car event I would have a good time at. Obviously their target demographic is a buncha young ricer guys. I just don't take events that need to lure people in with skanky models seriously either. Personally, there's nothing there for me. (I guess it's also a pet peeve of mine that some organizations feel that the only place women have at a car show are as the models...because ya know, women just aren't into cars....lol)

OK, I may have changed my mind. That 30 bucks is hard to swallow though. If one or two of my friends want to go, i may end up coming. I was looking to go to the one in landover in june, but it looks like all the good stuff will be at the one this weekend.

So who is going again? If possible, we should motor up there as a group, then we could park together to look cool/try not to get dinged. Maybe, we could go up there after the run on saturday, if anyone is going to both. just a thought. let the brainstorming begin.

I was thinking about going solely to see the cars..not to judge "ricers", "skanks", or music. Just a handful of really well designed cars would be enough reason for me to go. But, $30 is a bit steep and just found out I have to start a new job on Monday, so I'm going to pass.

You wont see any well designed anything. Just a bunch of civics with bolt on's and crazy sound systems.
The best cars are in the parking lot

i went last year really just for the hell of it. After that, i decided that it wasn't worth the cover to get in, the gas used to drive from bmore to chantilly, or the amount of time spent there. I think I looked at about 3 cars there that I thought were alright. Everything else was really too over the top for me. I guess I'm more of a purist and would want less and more of a clean look. Less show and more function.
My $.02! It's not for me.

Hope everyone has fun there!
