Mod a MINI is very addictive. Once start, it can never be stop.
I'm wondering how much money you've already spent on your MINI. That includes all kind of mods, parts and/or labors, go and/or show.

I cast my vote, but some of the mods seem a little bit arbitrary in my case.

I ordered my car with the JCW carbon fiber dash, scoop, and hatch handle, but I installed the CF downtubes and shifter/cupholder trim rings the same night I brought the car home from the dealership.

So, I counted the downtubes and trim rings as "mods", but not the dash/scoop/handle, even though they've all been on the car since day one.

And darn you for making me add everything up and realizing how much I've put into the car since bringing it home!!

I've spent over 1K in 3 months of ownership. It was worth it! Hendrix no longer looks like an old man's MINI. Hendrix now looks more like an S MINI, and drives better than a stock S MINI in the corners. It is money well spent. I do all my own work as well. It's called "personal satisfaction". The previous owner would not recognize Hendrix as their old MINI. OH ..... Hendrix seems much happier!!!!!

Since you said "MINI", not "MINIs", I guess I can't add them all up into one figure.

I really haven't kept track of all the expenses, but I would venture guesses of:

PW = $350

CR = $2,750

JB = $1,200

Don't get me started on the cost of detailing supplies.

And Ps. Do you know there's a copyright on the term "Mad Modder Club" and all derivities of that name ??!!??

Tools and detailing equipment not included. All items self installed tires professionally mounted on rims. regular oil changes not factored.

Total---------$5289

And before the modding took off MINI spent over $25k in labor alone on my almost bi-weekly trips to the dealer for warranty repair work that had to be done, add in the cost of parts on that and this is one costly MINI and add 74k miles worth of gas in the last 26 month lol.

I really wish I didn't sit down and add all of that up, this was all about the enjoyment of the car I hate to think about what thatmeans in $$ and sense, because I can't really put a price tag on all the fun I've had driving and all the wonderful people I've met as a result of becoming partof the MINI community, and several are life long friends now all MINIs aside.

I sworn (well, kinda....) that I wouldn't get into modding with the car...but so far, I've spent bucks on:

- Customized bonnet stripes
- Customized shift-**** (thanks to Robin Casady!)

And I just decided I need to get the same customized stripes, for the boot. :impatient OH, and red interior lamps....

I will not post in this thread as I don't care to run a tally

<---- cleared more than $10k on parts when I sold my Subaru. Luckily, I was smart enough to pay off my '06 MCS with that money instead of spending it for a turbo kit for the MINI.
