Would anyone like to goto Bengies?

I know its a bit of a ride for you VAers, but I'm throwing it out there. How many people would be interested in heading up to Bengies Drive-In movies sometime. Its in Essex, MD, about 10mins from where the haunted house was (for those who came to that event.) There is an AWESOME restaurant next door to it with AMAZING crab cakes too .

We tried this about three years ago. The problem was the movie date selected was a Friday night, and folks could not get there because of traffic. I would love to do this (there is also a drive in out past Manassas we tried) but we should go for a Saturday night so people don't have to fight traffic.

Jeremy, why don't you try to set it up??

... Jen is right back in the days someone suggested it but never materialized as the Friday night was not the best for the Virginia folks, however, now we have a lot more active people in MD that the event should have a good # of MINIs showing up.

Saturday, Friday, no difference to me, just gauging if there would be any interest before I talk to Stacey about setting it all up.

Ooh! I'd go! I've always wanted to go but never been.

The doggies wouldn't be able to come unless it were cooler outside though.

We are hardcore Bengies fans-we make the hour long drive at least once a month. We were there last night for Pirates of the Caribbean III, only Mini in sight, 3d effects were great (rain spraying us in the face instead of ocean spray!) as usual if you arrive early and together you can usually park in a group. First time with my '06 with DRLs, they wouldn't let me in until I covered or disabled the headlights-I just replaced my bulbs so a quick minute under the hood pulling the connectors and we were good to go. But a word to the wise, if you have DRLs you will need to cover the lights or disable before they let you in the gate. Great idea, we will try to make it if our schedules allow.

Sounds interesting. But, it reminds me of one of the few things MINIs are not good for.

towing?

I would definitely be interested in Saturday night.

Friday isn't really too appealing cuz of the traffic around town.

Jeremy,
Just remember that By The Docks gets way busy on the weekends so reservations will be necessary. I wish I had my MC so I could tag along but it will be a few more weeks before I can order it. Maybe I could pass off my GMC Sierra pickup if I put a Union Jack on the roof?

By all means, a MINI is not manditory! Its not having a MINI that matters, its the love of the MINI! I would definatly set up a reservation, no way we could sit 15 people at BtD on a Saturday evening within 2 hours without one.

My wife and I went up to Bengies last summer in the truck, but since she's gotten her MCSC, we been trying to get up there. Just haven't quite made it, yet.

If there was a MINI thing put together for a Sat night, I'm pretty sure we'd be there!

Saturday July 14th sound ok to everyone? Originally I was planning on leading a run through central MD, but my route ended up sucking, BAD! So might as well take the pre-existing date that is on the calendar and use it .

Crabcakes? Someone say crabcakes???!!!!
Jeremy, my (new) young friend, that sounds wonderful! (that's the weekend we'll be in town). Pencil us in (3). Might have to do a Baltimore day, Inner Harbor, Aquarium, et yada, that day and head over for dinner/ movie. Long drive back to NoVA afterwards, but I think I can stay awake that long.

Went on Saturday night looooooooong nite but fun..got back home at 4 :00 am. after stopping at the diner close home .

If we want make a nice group we should go early and bring some food with us to share .. inlcuding crab cakes !!! it's worth the extra $7.00 to bring your own food. I hope in July Pirates of the Caribbean is gone and replaced with a less confusing movie... We are in...
