You are correct Random- I think she posted on another forum that her son is 25, has had 2 pretty bad accidents even tho she claims that he has had extensive training and can handle "fast cars".
oh, and he has his own home,,,, maybe the mobile home right down the street?

Oh and I totally agree that this thread is priceless,,,, if it is deleted, innocent people might get "appled" in the future
people won't realize that skillet is a class act, that Big Norm is tall,,,very tall, that I, ( cabwy) have a cocker spaniel who is a big bully, and heck I could list much more,,, but one of the main "perks" to this thread is the free beer....and like CC mentioned we haven't reached the 2009th post yet!

We know where you live.
Considering what RandomGemini said earlier today, I would personally be afraid that this imbalaced woman (of whom I suspect is still a lurker here), would meet everybody at the trailer / trailerpark with a shotgun.

Is a snipe hunt like a submarine race?

Once asked my wife if she'd like to go watch the submarine races. Hook. Line. Sinker. One of my proudest achievements.

Gemgirl, How is Nugget tonight? Does she like her new "bling"?
More importantly, do you like it?

You didn't see her toes before her Flikr account went private did you?

Only I know what she's talking about with the "travel game" (are you reading this Sandy? )
Yeah, I guess it's called "I spy"... sorry... I forgot.

MtyMous said he wanted to start a game (sort of) challenge about finding Classic Mini's. Thought it was a good idea. I have searched high and low and far and wide... and I am sad... didn't even spot one. Not one.

Big Norm- you shouldn't delete this thread. As you said, there's been lots of activity here. Yes, there are probably people looking here that may not know anything about Classic Mini's... but there are many of us that would love to have one someday. Some of us visit here and post and then browse into other sections of Classic Mini and learn things. I for one learned about a couple of the best books to buy for ID'ing and learning about the different models and features and hopefully one day I will be knowledgeable enough to find one where I'm not taken to the cleaners.

CC- The pic you made for Skillet was Classic! Very nice.

Methman- Funny you should post here today. Actually I'm quite shocked. Maybe you could explain why... (since you're obviously SO disinterested in this "Free Classic Mini" place ) you would be keeping track of the page count and posting it here: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...40-post17.html What was that all about? You've been a secret lurker? I kinda chuckled when I first read your post last night but then I thought it was pretty sad that you felt the need to basically make fun of people posting over here. If you don't like it... well, no one is forcing you to read through it. So what if we're not talking about mods and wax and gearhead stuff... just because we don't feel the need to talk about who knows the most and who's the coolest doesn't mean we don't have anything to offer. And BTW- we're not all trying to be environmentally friendly "Prius" drivers either.

As for this being a "snipe hunt"... well I recall that there were plenty of experienced Mini people here that were just as ready, willing and able to jump on the Free Classic being offered. Skillet just happened to be the first one to pm Apple.

"Hope" doesn't equate to "Stupidity"... if it did, no one would ever buy lottery tickets and Vegas would be just a dusty empty place in the middle of NOWHERE. Almost every one of us has, at some point experienced something that was unexpected and ultimately a life changer.

+1 Well said Miniola,,,, I still cannot figure out why it bothers some people that we are having fun over here, maybe Big Norm can put a disclaimer by our title Free Classic Mini thread like:
Free Classic Mini (warning, it's anything but) or (warning, long, ramblin post)
But anyways,,, well said..... now where is my homage smiley??? I really can't find him....

Snipe - Small non-existent animal. See Cheers first season with Fraiser Crane. (Season 4?)

Apple might be a fake giving away fake cars but then she did unite all of us in a common bond of MINIMinihood, so its not all bad. What other thread would have such great post and wonderful videos ? not to mention the non stop beer supply ?

Can we order a Pizza today ?

No pun intended (Da *****!)

Thanks to those who came along for the ride. I'm still having fun, and maybe one of these days will have a Classic to post up in here. Unfortunately, I don't think it's going to be free I'll tell you this though, I have never learned so much about a person I don't even know. It's been a fun ride I do still plan on participating over here in the Classic section, and MtyMouse, enjoy yours! If you ever decide to sell it, and I have not gotten one yet, drop me a line. Yours is absolutely beautiful!

Wow.... this thread really has it all! First I take a holiday vacation for 10 days to Florida and spend a hour or so catching up to find out we still have no pictures but lots of hope and now after taking a couple of days out for some surgery I come back to find the light is dwindling and things do not look good!

Where does one start......

Skillet - continue to take the high road - don't stoop to Apple's level.

Why should we endure the "nay"-sayers and the "told-you-so" crowd. We all knew this was a possibility, but we didn't care. This has been a hoot. I haven't laughed so much over a forum thread ever.. Its great to see the MINI group and the Mini group getting together - and even enjoying a few beers! Good job they are virtual - I gave up alcohol for New Years. Only issue right now is that laughing hurts - had a hernia fixed

Don't have any pets to talk about. "Mac" our clown fish went back to the store with the corals after 3 happy years and a number of household moves. I miss my black lab - Hobbes! I bought him for my wife, but he followed me everywhere. When we got divorced - she got her new man and I got the dog - long story. Best medicine I could have had. My new wife tells me that if it hadn't been for Hobbes and the attention he paid her as opposed to me being a little standoff-ish, the relationship may not have developed - Hobbes died from a blood disorder. He was close to 12 years old and died on my birthday. He will never be forgotten.

It was great to see all the pets enjoying the Minis!

Long live the thread........

Any word on job interview success?

I trust all of the other northerners out there are enjoying the cold and the snow

I hope you're not getting ready to throw in the towel ! Keep the faith MAN ! There's got to be some good in this world ! This deal MUST be true ! You must receive this gift or the whole human race will fall into a dismal state of which it will never recover......

Ok, so I'm a bit dramatic - but Keep the fire alive !

Welcome back, heal quickly!
sorry to hear about Hobbes, but sounds like he had a long and happy life, that is all we can ask of our furry friends.
I'm sitting by the phone patiently (lord knows i have no patients) waiting for the job offer! Let's hope it's not Apple in charge of the calling, or i might not ever get a job!
I'm going to start pleading everyone on this thread to cross all fingers until i get the call for this job. Don't worry you can re-learn to type with fingers crossed!!!! I did.
