Have you ever had crabmeat pizza? It's really good with the blue crab from Maryland (or Philadelphia) - not *as* good with the stuff from Thailand - add some fresh mozzeralla and some other yummy cheeses (fresh parm, gruyere, even cheddar, etc)

ok, now I'm hungry too!

OLA, if you're still ordering Chinese, how 'bout Crab Rangoons?!

*licks lips, anticipating yummies*

oh yeah... Happy Friday Freebies!

Bummer Gem, you're so right about the years together. My ex-wife-in-law & I talked enough that I knew when my stepdaughter got in trouble at school and was grounded from tv/phone at her mom's home for 4 weeks. Step came over to our place for the weekend and thought she could turn on the tv and call all her friends... I asked her if she wasn't still grounded, and she looked at me with this look. She couldn't believe I knew about it and worse was going to uphold it. I later found out that she told all her friends and her older sister that her life was ruined.... that all her friend's divorced parents didn't get along so they go away with murder... but nooooo, her mother & stepmother spoke on a regular basis and, well, her life was ruined!

I laughed my **** off...

that is great!!! step will turn out great, even though right now her "life is ruined" but she has supporting parents.
I'm lucky all the kids are grown, but now the grandkids are involved.
she is a not so nice person with an opinion about everyone below her... need I say more?
anyway, dinner is on it's way.... and puppy needs to play.

Just checking in real quick...

I'm ordering Chinese? I mostly just like fortune cookies and pork fried rice. I'm a simple girl.

I'm leaving in a minute to pick some meds up and something to eat. Don't know what yet.

Just spent a REALLY long time filling out a survey for my latest dealership visit. And since they can't figure out/do not acknowledge the problem with the driver's seat I did a bit of bitching... so now I am grumpy. I've spent more than 12 hours of driving back and forth to the dealership in Orlando, they can't replicate it so they can't do anything. The dealership in Jacksonville says there's a bulletin for the problem and a back order for seat rails from Germany! Orlando has a set of rails in hand. Ugh Jacksonville is 4 hours away- one way. Although it is a nice drive through the middle of the countryside... Silver Springs... .

I'll try to check in later tonight but everyone will probably be in bed. Sorry I missed out today. Hugs.

Funny, that one person posted on the other thread about missing 2 hours of life due to reading this thread! HA! We've spent what... 2 months or more!

Yah, that is sooo frustrating. I hope you get it resolved soon! So far my window is behaving nicely and I am so grateful!
We just returned from an Italian rest. and I feel way overfed. So I am in my jammies trying to ignore my way too full tummy.

And I am thinking that we have spent more closer to 4 months on here!!! woo hoo!

Hey Gem!! Please have your husband keep his cough over there in your household,, can you believe I am still up coughing again??
I walked the dogs today in the wind I am praying it is just allergies that stirred it up again. eesh!
Oh and I might as well wish everyone a Gooood Morning!!

I have tons of stuff to get done this weekend,,,and in 8 days we will be going into Daylight Savings Time and it will be lighter longer in the evenings!!
Or is it actually, literally 9 days??
Anyways next Sunday we will be on DST! I mean, can spring be that far away then????
We have an invite to go to a place on Saturday night where the band playing is called Double Clutching Weasels--- now doesn't that sound like a band you can really fall in love with???

Gem, that sucks... my ex's new wife seems to despise me also. So far I haven't had to have any contact with her/him. I guess because our grandkids live out of state.

In case anyone was wondering what we had for dinner last night for our meatless Friday:

Leftover Mexican food from a party at Steve's work. There was a vegetarian sopa and some rice and beans with onions and cilantro in tortillas with hot sauce. Pretty yummy.

I think for next Friday I'm going to buy some salmon from Costco and see what kind of recipe I can find. I love salmon!

Looking for a job...

So there is a local website called jobing.com where you can look for a job. Last June, when I lost my job, I could look at 10 pages of job listings, which would be 250 jobs, almost all posted in 2 days. Now, when I look, those same 10 pages with 250 jobs are going as far back as 18 days.

Now, I know that some of you are probably thinking "250 jobs, that's still pretty good!" Well, a lot of the 250 are multiple postings, so there really aren't 250 different jobs. A lot of the posts are for "internet marketing" and I've tried one of those and trust me, in this economy I'd have better luck selling ice to an eskimo. Then, there are the jobs that the military has; they just don't say that you are enlisting, and I'm too old for the military or else I would consider it. There are jobs that I'm just not qualified for (healthcare, for example). There are jobs that I've already sent in applications for and never heard back from (what gives?).

Oh, I forgot the best (worst?) part: there are jobs that I would enjoy and am otherwise qualified for but since I am not bilingual in Spanish and English, I can't be hired. Not to be offensive, but that is BS. San Diego is still in the US, last time I checked.

Just felt like sharing that. No responses are needed. Sometimes I like to vent.

Vent away McWill! I've been contemplating how to make use of this situation. I'm even reading through the ARRA 2009! There has got to be away to turn this around........just..... I just feel that there is something I/we could do, but I haven't been able to put my finger on it. It's like I'm seeing the edges, but not the center.

hey Will, what is sopa? that all sounds good!
My favorite is salmon on the grill. Marinade it frist and just throw on the grill or if no grill i make littel foil packets and let it cook in the oven.
Meatless fridays here too, well ok most days!
so you other half is still working, that is a big help in the household!

I'm not really sure what a sopa is (if that really is what it was; I was told it was a sopa). What I ate was a little tart-like thing, dough-y shell/crust, refried bean-filled, with various onion and other veggies and sour cream and stuff. It was good, as far as leftovers go.

I wonder how salmon would do on the George Foreman grill?

Luckily, Steve is in the Navy, so as long as he doesn't screw up big time (and as long as they "don't ask" and he "doesn't tell"), he's pretty safe jobwise. If it wasn't for him, I'd have given up and would be back with my parents in Indiana.

I know what you mean and thanks for venting. I feel like i'm the only one saying to family who is working and not understanding the crap i've been through about jobs be offered and then recinded. I heard on the national news the other night that a law office in NY hire some intern lawyers and then pulled back the offer, i was screaming SEEEEE it is happening to others...
and have you noticed the careerbuilders.com and other sites, are manymany listings, but believe me when i say if it is posted from an agency then chances are it is an old posting job. I have signed up with 5 agencies so far and i'm going on their website and appling to jobs and when i call them, it's always "it's been filled", it was just posted that day. Yesterday i went to another new agency and they told me about a job that i interview for last week, it was a temp 3 -6 month job becuase the company is being sold. well the agency told me about a job in the same town that is perm. I asked her the name because it sounded familiar - yup same company!! Where is the respect??? I don't know how to play the lying game really well.
Oh and just for the record, i call the unemployment office yesterday and the "customer service" person that answered the phone was so rude to me. Hey i don't deserve that, i want to work this is not my fault i'm out of work, I was so mad i wrote and email to the Governor and told him give me her job! i'm more qualified then a person being rude like i'm bothering her day!!!
thanks for letting me vent too!!!

Salmon is great on the Foreman grill.

And personal opinion only, no one else business! As long as the job is done!

I was thinking just the other day, the only place where business seems to be booming is the Unemployment Office.

I think we ALL need a Good Laugh!!!

Not that I'm down playing the Joblessness, it was 2 weeks ago yesterday that 5 of my Fellow Co-Workers/Friends were laid off. Now when Paydays occur I get nervous too!!

OK...now for the Good Laugh!! "I GOT CARDED LAST NIGHT!!!"

I had gotten a Free Birthday Coupon from Red Robin, Hubby left it in Molly when we went to dinner, so he went out to get it and I ordered us drinks. WELL...the waitress asked "Can I see your ID"... I was SHOCKED!!! I almost said something, but then I thought, nah, I'll just have a Great Story to share with ALL My Friends!!!
