Fuel at the Dragon

Already did a search and was unable to come up with anything concrete.

Since I live in the another country commonly called the Great State of Texas 93 octane flows like tap water. Whats the octane situation around the Dragon? Do I need to bring my own supply of 93 octane go juice?

North Carolina is a 93 octane state. No worries.

Now, the lines at the couple of stations in the vicinity of the Dragon, that's another matter... If someone had a "portable" gas station, they could make a killin'...

You should be able to get 93 Octane in GA, TN.

EDIT: Looks like 93 all around then!

Just be kind and don't fill up at Deals Gap. Leave at least one station open for the bikes!

Here is the deal on fuel (and air for tires):

Hellbender Pitstop (the gas station at Fontana)
- carries regular and premium unleaded
- air for your tires

Tuskeegee Motel and Citgo (on the way to Robbinsville on 28)
- fuel and air

Deals Gap Store
- fuel and air
- 7 gallon limit on gasoline (they only receive weekly shipments and their tanks are limited in size)

All this (with maps) will be included in the Welcome Guide that we'll be emailing out to all registered attendees this weekend!

Yes, please be considerate of the gas situation at Deal's Gap. We don't want to burn up all of their gas they need for motorcycles and such. There is always a good excuse to head to Robbinsville for gas if the line at Fontana is too long. . .

Tapoco Lodge also has a gas pump, but I'm not sure what flavor they serve there. . .

If you are coming from I75, get fuel close to the interstate, it will get more expensive as you move away (like almost any place else).

I have not been to the dragon for a couple of months so prices might be higher but I got 93 here in Chattanooga today for $2.90 so prices are not bad.

Another great place to get gas is in Madisonville, TN as it is right on the course from the Dragon to the Cherohola Skyway loop.

Whenever I see fuel for cars it makes me think of my dear departed daddy. When I went to work for him in the trucking business he always used to scold me when I said I was going to get fuel for my car. He would say... trucks use fuel, cars use gas. Anyway just had a daddy flashback, carry on
