I just bought a 2012 model R58 Cooper S, however when I press the BC **** I cannot see the following information:-

Fuel Consumption Avg
Fuel Consumption Real-time
Range
etc

Is there anyways to wake up the menu? Hope someone can help, feeling really frustrated.

Maybe locked out , what country are you in ? Are you pressing the end of the stock while the car is running ?

The car is in Hong Kong, the "very useful" user manual said I can scroll through with the BC button.

Yes I am pressing end of the stick while the car is running, I used to drive a R53 JCW, which I can scroll through the manual with that button.

Feeling quite confused, anyone have the problems?

Ok, in other countries that dont always get all the US option. does not happen much.

Its the end stalk on the left hand side. I would call your local MINI dealership and see what those cars came programmed with or if it was a dealership flashed option.

 

Check your spec sheet - These things are included with the "On Board Computer" option (550 is the code, I think), which isn't always standard outside the US. Without it, you will not get the distance to empty, fuel economy, etc.

 

Thank you very much, I have asked BMW/MINI about the situation. They said it was program for it...but they can reprogram it for a ridiculous price. I wonder if I can unlock these somehow by myself.

Now I have some problems with the roof wing rattling, I thought 2nd Gen is better but seems like it is the same as my R53. Anyone had this rattling before?
