I've got to hand it to Craig again as he did an awesome job with the design. Here's a close up of the front design so you can read the bottles.

Hey I got a question for anyone who lives in, has been to or is familiar with Chicago?

What is 'Old Style'?

The Super Bowl was so, well, boring that I kept switching to the My Boys marathon on TBS (good show by the way). Anyway, several times when they are ordering beer they order 'Old Style'. Someone fill me in.

Side note, T-Shirt sales are off to a good start. Anyone who didn't get one last year and wanted one needs to make sure they get their order in on time. Don't worry as you all have plenty of time. I just felt bad that some got left out last year. I couldn't get enough for a 2nd order.

A quick bit of Googling shows it's a Pabst brand that's still sold by vendors at Wrigley Field. Wikipedia says it's a pale lager.

Thank you both. Hmph. They made it sound appealing but something about the name Skunk **** just doesn't instill confidence.

"Old Style" is the kind of beer you buy

when you are in college and cannot afford to buy good beer. Still priced the same now as it was in 1980. If memory serves me, it is yummy. Come to think of it, anything I could afford to eat or drink back then was yummy.

Also, not to be confused with "doggie style".

Old Style, commonly referred to in these parts as "Dog Style" is/was brewed in La Crosse, WI by Heileman's Brewing Co. As Ed mentioned, it garnered about as much respect up here as Red, White, and Blue (the bottom of the barrel beer by Pabst) and Blatz. Personally, I think they were simply rebottling water straight out of the Mississippi River.

Although I had to give up drinking beer and all fun juice, (it gave me a sleeping disorder! Really, woke up in jail, divorced etc.), I still like to hang around people who enjoy it, so yes, I'll be dropping in, (with BEER of course), just not stumbling out!

Awesome Dave. You won't be the only non-drinker. It's even more of a spectator sport this year since we have the Beerlympics going on.
