FYI

Talked with Fontana on Thursday. ALL Willow Cabins are taken as well as most of the Rooms at the Inn.

A few 2BA 2BR Cabins are still available and the old cabins w/o AC, Phone etc. Although prices went up MOTD attendees will have 20% off of the listed price.

Hrm. May have to find some people to crash with next year. We plan to go but I'm not booking now. Wanted to stay in the inn.

Matt, never give up. Everyday there is a different take on what is and isn't availble. They'll probably open up some of the timeshares. Plus, folks who have booked rooms may not be able to keep their reservations, and things absolutely do open up. Just keep calling and you'll get a room or cabin.

So how does that work do they apply the discount when you finally check out? I reserved a Timeshare cabin already and they didn't mention anything about a MINI discount. My cc has been hit already with the reservation ($180 ). I guess Ill worry about that when we get closer to MOTD 2007

to be honest.. we really didn't stay in our cabin very much. Most of the time, we were either in our MINIs exploring or walking around chatting with everyone. The cabin itself was fine, needed to be upgraded a bit. The fridge was scary, but it kept the beer cold ... definitely better than the Travel Lodge we stayed at on the way to the Dragon. Actually, we spent more time at the MF/MINI5280 cabin . Their cabin was nice

Matt -
We might have room in our cabin... we have 3 already, but have room since there's a 4th bed. We were thinking of getting a 4th body in the room to split the bill 4-ways. Let me know your plans and I can ask the guys. It would be cool to room with the Brew Man (and Brew Man's wife ) Obviously you guys would get one of the rooms for yourselves

best of all... I would be assured to not miss the Brew Swap

to be honest the cabin was in bad condition.......needed updating and some new ... everything.... we did not spend much time there but still..... I was looking for a bandit's mask on the person behind the desk when I checked out for I felt at the least a bit taken advantage of....... some of the cabins are nicer as i have been there before for other reasons but some are in terrible shape.....if I was the owner i would be embarassed. We had a bad case of ants and kitchen amenities falling apart...... I have stayed there in very nice accomodations....this unit was not one...hopefully new ownership will clean up the units that need it

The cabin we were in was old, but nice. Again we only ate breakfast (that I cooked every morning...NO MORE BACON) and slept in there.
But remember, they were doing renovations while we were there as well. I am sure now that we have SOLD out FV this year, they will probably do more renovating for next year. They almost have too if we are expecting anywhere near or beyond the numbers we had this year!
I would offer room in our cabin, but alas we are bringing more people and more 4 legged friends with us, so it will be full. But it is only June '06! I am sure people will find places to stay!

MiniMac, I too had to pay full reservation price, but the true cost will be reduced for next years event, they told me that when I reserved the cabin.

hmmm.. now that you mentioned it, they may have said something about that. I called Fontana from work and was half paying attention All I remember hearing them say they've confirmed my reservation for next year. At that point, that was music to my ears

I would not be surprised to see all the cabins upgraded by next year now that the new management has taken over the place. Our place last year was a mess, but staying in the same place this year, you would not believe how much they improved it.

To answer a few questions in one post…

MiniMac2005; The discount is taken off of the final bill and you are charged one full night to reserve a cabin, it will be less when you check out. I don’t know if you are a family, just married or single, but we always share a room in our cabin with others and split the bill. Our $208 a night cabin only ran $50 a night for me this time.

PassatDoTd – Matt, As MINIclo said check back on a regular basis. Many rooms come available only days before the event because they hold things back.
