I hooked up Bimmercode to my 2019 Countryman and was unable to even find two of the things I wanted to code.
I was hoping to code:
- Fullscreen carplay
- Get rid of the startup warning screen
So, I'm guessing my software is indeed too "old". Is there a way to upgrade the software. Is the only option something like this: LINK. or do dealerships do any type of updates? for a fee even?
I've unfortunately seemed to have caught the mod bug and keep doing things to the car and I'd like to do some of these things without having to buy a laptop.

I don't know anything about Carplay, but you should be able to turn off the startup warning if you find the right setting. I've done it on a 2019 and 2022 in the past year, so I know it's there somewhere.
Edit: I've made all changes with my phone. You shouldn't need a laptop unless you're editing parameters manually.
@chrunck Thank you...I'll check again. As for the laptop...that was only if I was going to do the interface upgrade via bimmerlink or bimmerremote (as in the link)
So...I went back in and started checking the Expert Modes for each of the Control Units available (screenshots attached) to me. No luck for either a warning or Carplay... or ID6 for that matter.
I've heard that there may be a software update that may have made these available to me (behind the scenes at least). Am I making this up or how would I get MINI to update my car.
No need for including the dealer. Through talking with @sb2002 , it seems there's a toggle in the settings for Bimmercode "Ignore Headunit". I turned it off and boom the headunit control unit popped right up. I was then able to select right away the fullscreen and warning.
Thank you sb2002! I appreciate the help and am happy to be working again....until it breaks

Can you please dumb this down a little for me please. Full screen Carplay is literally the ONLY thing I want! I thought i needed an expensive update from the dealer. What do I need to do?

I talked to him about 2 years ago, and forgot about it. I should hit him up again

Understand that desire completely....and even moreso after getting. It's a game changer.
Anyways...assuming you already have CarPlay (just not fullscreen), then you need to purchase the Bimmercode app for your phone (I believe 39.99 for IOS version). Then you need to purchase an ODB adapter. They come in bluetooth or direct connect. I went the direct connect route. Bimmercode has a page on their site of all that work. Direct connect, you're looking at 43$ and bluetooth about 80$. Direct is faster...
Then get all connected (Bimmercode gives directions on how to do that). Big thing I needed to do was to select on the Gear icon in Bimmercode before I went in to code and turn the toggle for "Ignore Headunit" off. When I did that and went in to code (simply by selecting "connect" in Bimmercode, the "headunit" controller option was available. Once in there, under Carplay will be "fullscreen". Go in and change to Active. That's all I had to do.
You may need to go into Expert mode and find "Carplay_fullscreen" and change to Aktiv.
The toggle switch was my big hangup...but other that it was fairly simple. And you can also adjust other things in Bimmercode....so you're not spending 83$ strictly for fullscreen.
