I’m sure this has been covered but I can’t seem to find much info. Am I the only one who finds the Harmon kardon sound system to be awful? I can’t quite pinpoint what it is about the system but it seems very flat, or shrill perhaps. What are you guys thoughts on it? The last vehicle I had, had a Bose system and it was far superior. What are my options for making it sound more like the Bose?
I had the HK system in my 2016 R60, and the HK system in my new 2019 F60. The HK system in both of my Countrymen was/is 'good', not great. There was def. more volume available out of the HK system that was in my R60. I think the HK system is 'brighter' than most stock premium sound systems so I tune some of the highs down accordingly.
I also hate the HK system, but only because you can't really equalize anything. For example, the bass is pretty weak when the volume is low, but on the other hand, I think it sounds great loud.
Honestly, as far as stock systems go, the HK is pretty good. It is a fat sight better than my wife’s Tiguan and the horrible Jeep Compass that is my loner car.
Without singing any praises for the HK system, when I heard the non-HK sound in a 2019 loaner from the dealer while my car was being serviced the difference was just enormous. I thought I was listening to an old transistor radio in the loaner.
