Whistling sound (Air humming sound) on my JCW

Hi People,

Can anyone tell me whats the possible cause of the air humming sound I hear on my JCW 2009. I usually hear it when I reach a speed of 80-90mph; the faster I go, the louder the sound. I think its coming from the rt passenger side, near the window or AC vent. Is it normal for MINI JCW especially on high speed? It sounded like air resistance but I was wondering why only on the rt side? Was the car poorly designed aerodynamically or do I have problem with my door rubbers (defeating air tightness)?

My car is a stock MINI JCW 2009, no exterior modification yet.
Inputs and comments will be appreciated.

Thanks....

Make sure the windows are fully up. I've had weird noises like that when the windows was ever so slightly down.

Sir Btwyx,

Thanks for the reply. Windows have been checked since before. With both windows fully closed, sound was still persistent. . .

Still tracing possible source.

Bad blower motor? I had a similar problem with my blower motor on a Volvo V70 wagon and it was a combination of stuff stuck in the blower motor and the bearing in it going bad that was causing a whine on the right front area of the car

Sir timwu13,

I will have the blower motor checked. Sound is quite annoying...

Thanks for the input.

Had an annoying whistle at speed on my jcw. Turned out to be the radio antenna oscillating in the airstream. Replaced it with a 4" mini antenna (genuine BMW) - no more whistle.
