Just builds

I have a 2012 mini cooper s countryman that as far as I know i bought stock. It's my first mini cooper and I love it. I've had trouble with it but it's running good and have started a build list. Ive reached out to Minimania for the down pipe, but the one they recommend isn’t street legal, and i would like to keep it street legal if possible, if not ill turn it into a rally car. I would like to talk to Mario about tuning if possible and how he does work. If you know that one of these products wouldn’t work, i would appreciate the feed back!

Here are my personal opinion edits to your list:

Blow off valve- Stick with factory like recirc valve with upgraded spring to match boost pressure

Catch can- go NM Eng or ECS tuning - baffled cans

Coil pack- stick with OEM part# Delphi i believe is the mfr

Tank header- stick with oem clear

Turbo- i would go minimum 41mm if upgrading(borg werner airwerks)

Turbo heat shield- get a turbo blanket, forge makes one, more effective

Ecu- get a custom ECU tune for your mods, sprint booster is a throttle adjuster

Intake - i dont like m7 but you do you, i would go with the ECS tuning carbon fiber intake if i was buying my intake all over again, but i have an R56 so...yeah

Will the borg Werner airwerks turbo increase boost? I know that they were the original mfr before they switched, and if so, how does it feel over the RPM band? I also chose m7 because the intake inlet would fit the K03 since its bigger than the normal inlet.

The turbo isn't the one to increase boost, thats up to the ECU/Tune. My current tune is bunk garbage and is only running 16 lbs of boost, im working on retuning it with someone else. Definitely more boost than the oem turbo and a better power delivery window. Edit: Essentially the boost last longer

do you recommend any tuners? I know Mario is a reputable tuner, but i have no idea how he does business or what id have to do to get my car ready to tune.

I am in Tampa, FL, so i initially went with a local European specialist shop to handle the tune. I believe they outsourced it. I am now getting ready to purchase a tune from @Lou@Prototype-R at Prototype-R. I almost went with Mario back in the day when i initially went stage 2 but i wasn't working on my own car at that point. Now that i am working on it myself i want to work with a more reputable tuner, and Prototype-R is highly regarded and also a few hours south of me, so more local than @MarioKart . I believe Mario works with RPM Power for his tunes. RPM Power has a lot of highly desirable parts for our motor, but they are expensive, lol.

Do they do package tuning? I've been looking around my area for a hot while and haven't found any custom tuners, but I have found a shop that can and will do package tuning.

Looks like you are going to be doing a lot of work and a complete engine teardown. Here are a few notes:

Blow off valve- 30mm external, get this with whatever big turbo you go with.

Catch can- m7 exact fit, This kit doesn't work well as it's just a cheap catch can with some rubber hose. You would be better off getting a good Mishimoto can and making your own kit. This is true with other brand kits too.

Cams- ? N18 engine already has variable valve lift and timing so this can be done with the ECU, and they don't offer N18 cams.

Charge pipes intake- m7 speed high flow intake, Save your money as these intakes just suck in hot engine air. Go cheap if you want an open intake, like the DDM. You also have to bypass the sensors in the intake hose on the N18.

For pipes there is no gain on the N18 on the throttle side, but we do offer ours, the forge, and NM. On the turbo outlet you can just do the delete pipe we offer and keep the stock rubber that fits perfect.

Clutch- ??? This again will depend on your use. OS Giken has proven to be the best, but again with all race clucthes they are not smooth street daily clutches. But more important with the power you want to make you need an LSD to get it to the ground otherwise all the power is useless.

Coil pack- ignition projects https://www.waymotorworks.com/high-o...9-r60-r61.html

Downpipe- mini cooper s downpipe upgrade 3 hi-flo off road only gen 2 https://www.waymotorworks.com/millte...-downpipe.html

Ecu- sprint booster v3, https://www.waymotorworks.com/sprint...converter.html

Exhaust- Quicksilver is the only full exhaust made for the R60
https://www.waymotorworks.com/countr...r-exhaust.html

Exhaust manifold- Turbo exhaust manifold waymotor works/ tubular exhaust manifold ecs tuning

Exhaust valve- supertech8

Fuel pump-walbri feel pump e85 compatible

Gauge- vent gauge kit P3cars V3 digital gauge kit gen2

Head studs- arp Head stud kit https://www.waymotorworks.com/arp-cy...9-r60-r61.html

Intake - M7 Speed MAXX-FLO (TM) Air Intake System | R55S-R61S | 2007-2016 | Red Foam Filter - Black Elbow/ hi-flow induction
SEE ABOVE for intake info

Intake manifold-madness mini cooper s high flow intake manifold, Think you have this confused with Gen 1 cars as they don't have one for a Gen 2

Intake valve- supertech https://www.waymotorworks.com/mini-c...7-r58-r59.html

Intercooler- intercooler and pipe comp kit, minimania, Get the Wagner Comp as it is a larger core and fits an R60 perfect with the most gains, this is what we use on all R60 builds
https://www.waymotorworks.com/wagner...o-r60-r61.html

Oil cooler- mishimoto oil cooler 10 row

Oil supply line- needed

Plugs- cold heat range

Piston- supertech forged Piston 77.5mm https://www.waymotorworks.com/supert...18-engine.html

Piston ring- supertech 77.5mm Piston ring kit

Radiator- bigger/oem Not needed and doesn't exist

Rims-?? Personal preference for look, make sure they fit your brakes

Rod bearings- king

Rods- carillio forged con rods https://www.waymotorworks.com/carril...9-r60-r61.html

Transmission- jwc

Turbo- k03 42mm quick spool gen 2

Suspension- m7 2"lifted Suspension stage 3 kit, Keep in mind this will kill the handling of the car as it becomes more like a truck with a higher center of gravity

Suspension bushings- powerflex performance polyurethane rear trailing arm bushing set https://www.waymotorworks.com/powerf...g-r60-r61.html
those are also included in the package to save you.
https://www.waymotorworks.com/powerf...0-r61-2wd.html

Tank header- forge alloy header tank https://www.waymotorworks.com/alloy-...56-models.html

Torque arm- nm engineering torque arm mount insert try this a little more affordable and works the same, also it's included in the Powerflex handling pack if you just get the full pack
https://www.waymotorworks.com/powerf...t-r60-fwd.html
https://www.waymotorworks.com/powerf...0-r61-2wd.html

Turbo oil supply line- ecs tuning tur https://www.waymotorworks.com/wmw-st...-line-kit.html

Turbo oil line heat shield- jmtc full oil line shield https://www.waymotorworks.com/turbo-...at-shield.html

Turbo heat shield- m7 speed, red, Wait to get your turbo and find what will fit or not

Valve spring- supertech performance valve, beehive style https://www.waymotorworks.com/mini-c...7-r58-r59.html

I'll definitely keep all that in mind, I do want to find a good Turbo and tune combo that will keep good power and torque through the entire RPM band, and if I wanted to keep good cornering ability and low center of gravity, what would you suggest?
