Are there any Intake/Exhaust Manifold Options?

I'm not sure how much a new intake manifold would add, not that I can find one, but I did see this: http://www.outmotoring.com/product.p...18&cat=&page=1

On the site it says it fits the Countryman. Anyone have experience with it, or know much about it? I honestly wouldn't expect much, if anything at all. Just throwing it out there in case there may be some good news! :D

Now what about headers (exhaust manifold)? I imagine something with a little length and "equal length" could do some good for performance. Matched with a 2.5" down pipe and exhaust would probably max out the exhaust system potential, in a good way.

Thoughts?

No headers on our Turbo engines so don't worry about that. There is an upgraded exhaust manifold out there. WMW and JMTC have some, you can even have them ceramic coated if you wished.

That intake spacer is interesting. I haven't seen that one yet. I looks like you don't see any benefits untill you are over 4k for both HP and Torque. So for a DD vehicle you wouldn't see much of a difference. But for those who track, or even autoX you might notice a bump.

Thanks for the link! I might consider this later down the road.

Thank you for your help glad the exhaust manifold is more simple. Last turbo car was an STI and we had a choice between unequal, equal and various other options.

Although, this is the WRC model (and far from the street version) I was curirous because of the exhaust manifold in this pic:

STI vs WRC had very similar exhaust manifolds, obviously theirs being way more advanced and cooler. haha.

Anyways, back to reality.... lol. I do plan to hit higher rpms, as autox is in the plans. I'd also like to see what the stock turbo is capable of. On the STI, the stock turbo maxes out around 300 WHP, but was able to pull about 340 ft-lbs peaking at around 3200 rpms with a pretty flat line to redline, on 91 oct. E85 would of seen a nice 20-30 HP boost and 30-40 tq boost. I liked that because I didn't want a bigger turbo and gave me the power I liked. I guess I also have to take into consideration the car weighed 3150 lbs, lighter than the CM as of now. I know I won't see that power out of the 1.6L in stock form, but a nice peak with a solid flat torque line to redline would be nice.

Now, slightly different questions since we're here. What is the "ideal" turbo to slap on the car to hit that peak power with a stock engine, but no going overboard on turbo size? Or even hit similar numbers as my previous car (STI) did?

I was thinking a list list like this:
??? - Custom Cold Air Intake (to behind bumper; relocate expansion tank and wiper fluid tank)

??? - Aluminum Radiator w/hosing

??? - Intercooler w/ 2" piping

$61 - Motul Oil 5w30 (5w40?) http://www.ecstuning.com/News/MINI_G...013/ES2581327/

$184 - Short Shifter Kit http://www.waymotorworks.com/cravens...ountryman.html

$139 - Exact Fit Oil Catch Can kit http://www.m7tuning.com/r60-countrym...h-can-kit.html

$500 - Custom 2.5” Exhaust (cat-less, 1 to 2 mid resonators, muffler delete)

$299 - 2.5” Cat-less Down Pipe http://www.waymotorworks.com/wmw-cat...8-r59-r60.html

$260 - Forge Recirculation Valve http://www.forgemotorsport.com/conte...oduct=FMDVR60R

$400 - Performance Exhaust Manifold http://www.waymotorworks.com/turbo-e...5-r56-r57.html

$240 - Intake Manifold Spacer http://www.outmotoring.com/product.p...18&cat=&page=1

$500 - Tune

Run the stock turbo like that, then basically add on a turbo down the line, put on a 3" exhaust, re-tune and call it day. Not looking to rebuild the engine now, unless that's what has to happen... then I'll HAVE to do that. haha.

A little off my original subject, I apologize about that. I knew so much about how to make the STI shine and now I'm restarting with a Mini engine. So many questions! :-D

Link doesn't work, but I'm pretty new to these engines too. I have experience in suspension/engine modifications from previous cars. Other than that, this engine is all foreign to me. haha
