Sport button a standard?

I picked up my CMS All4 a week ago and to be honest, I havent driven it much, but where is my sport button? I thought its a standard. When I test drove a CMS, I don't think that model had sports suspension and it had a sport button.

should be located at the bottom of the center console right in front of your shifter.

Unless I'm blind, it's not there. Only 3 buttons, fog lights, window lock (I think) and the traction control. I'm at work now, I'll take a picture tonight.

The Sport Button has nothing to do with the suspension or the Sport Suspension option. Your car should have it. Your owner's manual will show location.

Nevermind, it's an option with the sport package.

It is not an option with the sport package. I have a manual transmission, base CM with no sport package, and I have the sport button. As far as I can tell, on a manual it doesn't have much effect, other than tightening up the steering.

It is in Canada, just checked mini.ca. We suck when it come to options. I can't even get the 17" black wheels when I custom ordered mine.

Sorry, we assumed you were in the states, where the sport button is standard on all MINIs. We hear that it's optional in other places, and that's too bad. It may be possible to retrofit it to a car built without, but you may be disappointed at the expense to re-program the car. Even without, though, the CM is a great drive. Here in the states, where every MINI has a sport button, many people drive their MINI without ever even knowing it's there!

Oh, didn't realize you were from Canada, and didn't know they have different options there.

Thanks for all the help. We tend to get shafted with cars here, it's way over priced compared to the states, but that's another thread.

I think I saw a thread over at MINI2 about adding it after the fact, but I can't find the thread now. It's not standard in the UK either.

Sorry about the Canada spec car. Maybe providing a location in your profile will help answer a question like this much faster. Sorry bud, it's nice to have but don't worry too much.

It def. makes a difference in a Manual car. Not just the P/S but also the throttle response. I think its easier to engage/roll the car out of gear with the sport engaged. likely just a higher rpm for the same pedal response? IDK. But My wife is driving stick again after about 5 yrs and actually likes the CM clutch(hasnt stalled yet). I see that the Sport mode helps her. thata girl

Not sure where you are in Canada lego - and it's too late now - but for your next MINI, find a different dealer... I was able to special order things that don't show on the MINI Canada website or standard order sheet. It wasn't even that hard - I just had to ask...

I was able to do that on my '08 MCS Clubman and on my '11 MCS Countryman.

For now, enjoy your vehicle! It looks like a beaut!

Oh well, next time. I'm pretty sure I'm going to get another MINI when the CMS lease is up in 39 months.
